I got some card packs and got the Russian guy's autograph! The one the ants eat.
And today I started buying the 3" figures, and JUST discovered the loot in the boxes! So, I am in! All new collection brewing! Got the long desired cargo truck too! LOVE THAT THING! I've wanted one since 1981!

Cool stuff!

Have you ever repainted 3" figures? I would love to see some Indy head repaints. In particular I wondered if the KOTCS shirtsleeves Indy might look cool with brown hair, and whether the golden idol Indy might have a better sculpt than the paintjob suggests.

The one and only Indy Merchandise I've bought so far is the 3 3/4" Cemetery Warrior. I thought he looked cool but most of the others just aren't interesting. I wish Hasbro made a better 3 3/4" Indy because all of them stink. The Ark version is the only one that looks okay, but I want a Classic outfit.

I may! I haven't painted in that small a scale in YEARS! But, I have some new mag glasses coming, so who knows! I want to repaint all my new Indy figs. I got the Belloq today to go with my old, original plated Ark from the original line, that I have had for years. It is not as sharp and crisp as this new smallscale Ark, but it is gold, has the handles and stone cover! So, Belloq looks rockin' standing behind it!
I'll get a pic of my set so far. Meager, but heartfelt stuff! :whip :rock

Nice! Haven't gotten an auto yet and probably won't cause I want Ford. :lol Nice score though Les!!

The little relics are quite cool indeed!

I disagree with you there. The Raiders Indy is pretty good if you can find one with decent eyes, and the Crystal Skull Indy is even better in that it looks a lot like Ford. (The only issue is that the removable hat looks too big on his head.) The ones that come with the "trap" sets also seem to be pretty good, although mine haven't arrived yet. All of them have outfits that are very well done, in my opinion.

Awesome!!I'd love to check out some of your 3-3/4'' repaints!!!

Have you heard of Jin-Saotome on eBay? This guy has made a MINT over repainting cheap toys (GI Joe, Transformers, etc.) and remolding some parts and has turned up a MASSIVE profit.

Check out some of his customs and their prices!!!

Maybe you should look into that business as well!

Yeah, I really don't understand it frankly. He's good, but those figures simply aren't worth hundreds of dollars, no matter how well they're repainted. I think a lot of it is that he's managed to make a reputation for himself -- a sort of brand in a way.

There's two from raiders, I assume you're referring to the Idol one. The problem I have there is yep, almost all of them have eyes that look terrible. I also don't like the oversized holster. The Whip one has a better head but I don't like action gimmicks, I want a fully poseable Indy, this one too has the ridiculous giant holster. The Crystal Skull Indys do look pretty good except for the one hat between them. I'd still prefer a younger version though.
What I want is two younger Indy figures loaded with as much articulation as possible, one in a jacket one without, no action gimmicks, no giant holster or hat, and one that has very good sculpt and paint. Some come close but miss the mark. Maybe I'll find a Idol Indy that looks better the the ones I've seen on the pegs someday.

Yeah, I hate those damn action features. They ruin the toys. You might be able to get what you want by combining parts from two different figures. For example, the Crystal Skull Indy (with the jacket) has a normal sized holster, since it is just decorative -- you can't put the gun inside. But anyway, if you get a chance I'd pick up the Crystal Skull (with the jacket) and/or the Raiders Indy with the golden idol. I found some with decent eyes and also touched them up very slightly with a fine-tipped sharpie (although you do need to be careful doing that). For their scale, I think they're very well done.

Great - if you do some Indy repaints I would love to see them.

I'm sure it's been pointed out before, but Crystal Skull Indy w/ the jacket and removable hat is a pretty great "standard" Indy once you get his hat on. I have only bought that Indy, ROTLA Indy w/ idol, and the Ark/Indy 2 pack. KOTCS Indy is my pick as the best Indy so far. I didn't realize how goofy that practical holster is until I opened ROTLA Indy. Thing is HUGE.

That's what she said.:naughty

Well I finally found my Indy on Horse. Also kicked around getting another Idol Indy as the paint job was better but passed for now. The news of absolutely no Nazi affiliation and no shot of a Hitler EVER, not even as a con piece, killed my enthusiasim for the line. Well that and the boneheaded move of NO Staff of Ra with Robed Indy.

You really expected Hasbro to make Nazi figures? And a Hitler figure? Really? And this is what killed your enthusiasm for the Indiana Jones line? I'm just trying to get my head around that.
