you remember my first post on the SF on 11-30-05 of:

"That is correct December 28th...."?

Congratz to you and your good memory!

I was referring to this forum of which I was member 72 way back in the old EZ Board days (way before any of the examples you listed ever happened)and yes it was completely different before. I never said things were perfect (why is it so many people like to put words in other peoples mouths?), I said it was better before in reference to this comment;

"Wouldn't that be nice if people could agree to disagree and discuss these products as if we were all fans and happy to be collecting in a time when these products are readily available and at such a high quality as opposed to twenty+ years ago?"

I have no idea who the hell "Mordor" is nor have I ever "slammed" him. The problems Josh and I have had in the past rarely even had anything to do with Sideshow product.

Why do you think so few old timers are still left? Sure some just loose interest or move on for other reasons. But for a lot of people it became an unfriendly place to be so they left.

Hahah easy man......based on a search function, I do remember mine from 1/2004:

I couldn't find you on there tho......man my memory IS bad. I thought for sure you were on the LoTRG boards.....oh well.

Anyway, I didn't mean to imply that you ever gave anyone a hard time. Josh got slammed, but I don't ever rememeber you being involved.

Morder is 'Mr Fell Beast' on these boards and we always went to war with him on his negativity (in a fun way....like a drunk uncle at a reunion).

Anyway, I was just cautioning you against feeling TOO bad about how things are. These are great collectibles that are bought by people of common interests.....the cream will float to the top. Just stay focused on the cream......beee the cream.....mmmmmmm cream

Is my first figurine too... I'm hoping it looks as good as the promo shots were and based on the camera phone pics that CSC took it looks like it will be :)

All the whining and moaning is great. I'm very happy to hear that, but what I really need to hear is some cancellations so my Ex can finally freaking convert!

I have to say, however, that the proto perfectly captured that Indy smirk, while the production expression seems to be saying "What's wrong with you..?"

LOL :lol @ "old timers" fighting

Old timer 1: stfu ^^^^^ i'm member #72! you don't know how things were.

Old timer 2: damn, i'm member 104....I guess you;re right. :bow:bow:bow

I guess then I won't continue to post to the enjoyment of all.

I've gotten some support and kind comments from a few of you here and I do appreciate that as well as the understanding. However, I've been told by many on and off this site that for the most part the views here are very one-sided, not subject to much debate or question and with little to no room for a difference of opinion. In such a short amount of time these people have been proven completely and 100% correct. Have fun in your unrealistic, condescending and one-sided approach to your hobbies. This just isn't the place for me.

C-Ya.

Agent5, I'm personally sorry to hear you feel this way and won't be among us here anymore. But I certainly do understand. As I've pointed out many times... it seems the majority on these boards fall into one of the 2 extreme camps (Apologist/Hater) when it comes to Sideshow and those of us in the middle get the full brunt from both sides. You explained your issues with Sideshow's INDY products in a clear and fair manner... and your opinions (and you personally) were attacked for daring to be at all critical. Some people have absolutely no sense of rationality when it comes to this stuff. I apologize on behalf of those who can't seem to know better than to do this.

That said, I do wish you would stick around. There are some great folks (and even some great discourse) to be discovered on these boards. You just have to learn to go with the flow (and deal with A LOT of crap). And I understand why some people will not find it worth it. I guess I manage because, at the end of the day... this really is just a hobby to me and I truly don't take myself or anyone else seriously enough to let it get to me.

Anyway, if you do decide to stick around at all, know that you have some fellow INDY enthusiasts here more than willing to engage in mature and informed discussion with you.

Cheers. :duff

It definitely looks different in that close up comparison of the two, but I just feel there's too many variables to say how different it will look in person. In my experience everythig looks alot better in person than in the pictures. Also I beat some of our customizers can make the piece look just like the prototype.

I saw the production pics at SS, and was all like "wow, that looks great. Can't wait for mine". Then I come here kinda expecting the same reaction and see all the insanity over the changes.

They always come out a bit different from the protos, no? Is this really a big surprise? I figure, it's never going to look exactly like the proto in any case, but if it still comes out well and looks like the character - I'm happy. There have been a few real stinkers over the years, but this certainly isn't one of them IMO.

WOW the eyes look superb in those pics. along with the rest of it of course.

anyone want to buy my 1/6 Indy Excl?
