Unless people are so wowed by the sculpt they're missing the green jacket it can't be too awful green or I imagine people would have complained more about it. Maybe yours is a fluke, maybe try sending it back and getting another sent to you.

I think your big blue wall is making the jacket look green. Try and see what it looks like either in daylight and/or in a room with a neutral color like white or beige.

:rotfl

I take it you're not a fan of my big blue wall? I wanted something different, damn it!

Seriously though, as I said, we have natural lighting in the kitchen and that's where I set it up for the wife's inspection. Luckily the lighting is dimmer in my giant blue man-cave, so from across the room Indy looks normal....except for his gray pants. :monkey2

I was looking at mine again last night. In Ashton's defense, I'll say that the jacket does have a green hue to it. It's not solid brown by any means. And I'll say that on mine it doesn't fit properly either. And I'm not completely happy with the pants.

I'll reiterate that the sculpt on this thing is fantastic, thanks to Trev. I wished all PFs had such a great likeness, and it's the high point of the piece. But if the likeness wasn't there, this would be a mediocre PF at best. I really felt that Sideshow cut corners on the quality of the materials and yet still felt the need to charge $280-$300 for this.

I really did have high expectations for this one, and while I like it, I'm not "wowed" by it. I expected this to be my No. 1 PF in my collection, but Lurtz still remains in the top spot.

I'm beginning to wonder if I got the same Indy PF as you and Ashton did, because mine is amazing. I don't really see green in the jacket. To me, it's a muted brown with some yellow weathering, made to look almost dusty like the hat, to replicate the scene when he first picks up the idol. The jacket on mine fits slightly funky in the shoulders, but it is only really an issue when seen from the back, and it's a miniscule and hardle noticeable issue at that.

As far as ranking the PFs, I can see where you are coming from. All of my other PFs are Marvel ones and it is hard to compare the two. The Hulk and Thor are really larger than life and are completely different than the Indy PF, which is more realistic. I would imagine that a similar situation arises when you compare Indy with Lurtz.

See ya, don't let the door hit you on the way out. :wave

That would hurt, wouldn't it? :monkey1

Easy guys, just providing an opinion in the "Discussion Thread". One other thing though---I wonder why a magnetic hand made to hold his pistol wasn't included? Doesn't seem like it would've been a monumental task, and it certainly would've been cool.

I thought I saw something about this in the prototype stages but it could've been wishful thinking.

That would have been a better exclusive, IMO.

Yes, the pistol seems to be a bit of a missed opportunity, and the way the holster is made is annoying. I had enough trouble getting it closed that I'm never going to want to take the gun out, and really there's no reason to take it out anyway.

Wishful thinking I'm afraid. I did some 'photoshop' magic way back to show how it might have looked if it were the exclusive.

...Some quick photoshop fun to show what could have been the exclusive:

Wow, Indiana that is some great photoshop work. I too was thinking that you could switch out the idol hand with the gun hand. I guess you fooled me.

"Fool me once..uh..a fooled man can't get fooled again."

maybe it's me, but from the lighting... Indy's "brown" jacket doesn't look all too brown in this picture.

then again, he had been in the jungle, jungle brushes on him, adds a lil green to the old brown jacket, kinda like getting grass stains on my soccer jersey after slide tackling...
eh.

:)

I haven't gotten mine yet but if there is a little green on the brown it only adds to the "desert-retro-old-jungle-worn out" feel of the PF.

And don't forget, the costume department probably used a dozen different jackets throughout the film. There is no one single jacket. And I guess they probably were ever so slightly different from each other as well. So on some pictures it looks dark brown and some others it looks greener or lighter or longer or whatever. Plus take into account the film colour editing.

Definitely brown to me. Besides the collar, maybe. Regardless, I can't believe we've come so far as to even question what base color Indy's jacket was in Raiders :lol

I certainly wish you luck with yours. And if you're happy with it, that's all that really matters.

Mine kinda' looks like a bootleg........with a really great sculpt. :lol

The Regular Indy is In-stock on a Second chance over at SS's website. And my brother still hasn't even gotten a processing email for his Regular, and he's had it pre-ordered since May. Starting to get pretty annoying now.
