Your stuff looks mighty cool Ironman!
Love that Punisher as much as any of them.
The nostalgia lover in me, likes that updated Captain Action. Man, that goes back!
And is that bust that Mr. Bale is about to use, one of Adam West? That's a switch! Cool stuff bud! Lovin all of em!
Keep 'em coming! I know you have WAAAAAAY more than this to share with us! :D

Thanks Les!
The Punisher is a valuable member of my collection and invaluable to my photostory.
Captain Action is a long time fave of mine and I just threw him together on a whim. Now, I'm updating the whole Action Crew.
That is indeed an Adam West bust. I had bought it from Sunohc with the intent of making a Grey Ghost custom. I hadn't realized that he had sculpted it in a bit smaller scale so that it could wear a cowl. That made it useless to me as a figure head, but.... I had no idea where to get a Shakespeare bust so voila'! I got to update Batman AND pay homage to the version I grew up with.
I do have a few [thank god that means 3 or more] in production. Including a few painted by me that I really want the opinion of folks like you, Josh and Mikey on.

dude, your Punisher ROCKS!

I've always wanted to get one of those sculpts. Seeing yours makes me want it even more. I will eventually replace my Punisher head with one of those.

I had many Punisher heads before that one. I just couldn't accept any up until I used the DML Mel head. I screwed up the paint on him though and, after a time, off to Josh he went. He came back way to good to be Frank Castle, but immediately screamed "trillionaire playboy" to me. I had also sent DA the Punisher head but wasn't really sure when and/or if he was going to get used. Bradstreet really has made the defiinitive Punisher look. I would only consider changing him again for a Dolph Lundgren [GREAT Punisher, lousy script] or perhaps Thomas Jane.

That's a nice looking Cap' Action. Oh, and I totally forgot to mention that your Batman from the page before is AWESOME!

I think I got sidetracked by that super cool Punisher along the way.:chew

BTW - That was a very clever idea for The Lizard! You should repaint the head, arms & Legs & rip the clothing up a little. Maybe even make a tiny lab badge for him. It's really a cool custom. He'd be awesome displayed standing over a medicom classic Spidey!

Thanks Die!
That Lizard was one of my longest running WIP's. I started out with the idea of using him in the story. Then, my son saw him and wanted him. I said we'd look for another set of the JP heads but never found them again. Then we started disecting the body to make the clothes fit [the sleeves are ripped now but it didn't show well in the photos]. Then, after the clothes were back on was the only way/time to re-attach the forearms, but... no adhesive I used would keep them on. That kept him going back and forth on the "to do" list until I found new adhesives to try. Then my son didn't want him and I kind of lost interest in him due to the frustration factor. Then he saw him again and we started all over, only for my son to tell me he had seen a Marvel Legends one and would prefer having that one. No problem, mine's done now but I can't find the ML version.
<sigh> ain't customizing grand? :rotfl

sounds good Ironman, can't wait to see more of your work. That's a cool Lizard story, customizing can really have it's ups and downs that's for sure. Now, if we ever start sharing "shelf dive" stories, I'm sure it'll get really depressing.:lol

Thanks Les. A compliment from one of the board's masters on my measly work is not taken lightly.
I have been experimenting this past weekend with some "coloring". I can't call it painting because then it could be compared to what you, Josh and Mike do. :lol
A few came out better than I had hoped and a few, well..ok.
Now, if I could only keep my camera working I could share. I'll work on it this week and hope for the best. I still need to post my Aliens Marines and a bunch of Josh's wonderful work.
Apologies all around. Hopefully you will find the wait worth it.

A few additions. All still WIP's. I won't name them just yet, we'll just see if anyone can tell who they are.

Mind you that I am no master painter but it was fun to try these out.

Hey! Those are cool! :D
I REALLY like the Harley! Have that base costume too! Haven't gotten around to doing what you have with it, so it rules to see it on a better body.

Great work! Now...finish 'em! :monkey5

Thanks guys. These were kind of fun, if not frustrating at times to get done. This batch basicly started with Metamorpho. I had wanted to add him for quite a while but just couldn't figure out how. I was afraid using a multicolored "suit" would look too Mego-ish, not that thats bad, just not what I was going for. I searched thru all my head bins for a head that might be right and came up with a Bruce Willis TOS sculpt. I repainted the head with an Elmer's Painters white marker. It still needs a little fine tuning but seems like it will do the job. The body presented me with a larger problem. As Josh just discovered, paint scratches and smudges way too easily on body parts. I played around a bit until I thought, Hey! Try a Sharpie marker!! If a paint marker worked maybe this would too. And they worked waaaaay better than I ever thought they might.
Josh, you may want to consider giving this a try on Darth Maul, it very well could be the answer to tattooing his body.
His working out pretty much to my liking, I decided to try a villain. I had 3 Green Lanterns on my desk so Sinestro seemed like a decent choice. The head is a Hugo Weaving head that seemed like a natural fit with the hair sculpt and all. He is actually painted, again with the Elmer's Painters markers. I love these now as they come in varying widths and the paint applies relatively easy and dries fairly fast. He got a Project Are black bodysuit, old Hasbro boots and some custom trim from me and voila!!
Now, if I could learn to mix colors and use a brush I might be ready to try it like you guys!! :lol

Even though I dont know who half the figures you have are Ironman, I think its so cool that you have such a one of a kind collection.

You dont have the standard every day customs, very cool.

Well, for those who aren't familiar with them, or who aren't able to tell who they are 'cause I did a crappy job, the latest batch are [and remember they are WIP]:
Harley Quinn
Buzz Lightyear
Guy Gardner
John Stewart
Kyle Rayner
Metamorpho
Sinestro

I would imagine mine is a more diverse collection than most. I have been all over the genres and have numerous figures from military, law enforcement, fantasy, sci-fi, superheroes, civilians......
I find myself trying to create characters that just don't seem like to be seen in 1:6 by the major companies. Metamorpho & Sinestro were tedious, but a lot of fun to finally accomplish. Had I the talents [or patience] of Les, Mikey or Josh my collection would be boundless.
Along with several of Josh's works of art that he did for me, that I am long overdue in assembling and showcasing, I have multible other projects in the works. Just some of which are the cast of Jonny Quest, Colt Seaver's truck, more classic BSG characters, Bruce Banner, Flash Gordon, SG-1 team, POTA extras, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, a complete update of Captain Action {and team ACTION} and many more.....hopefully they will all be recognizeable and to everyone's liking.

Well, its been a while between updates. Some of these are new and some are just new to this thread. Either way I hope you enjoy. Many more still in the "WIP" phase.
So, without further delay.....
