How's come the animated DC movies are better than the live action

I always wonder about this, Even the Batman animated series is better than some of the live movies... I mean, A cartoon, for kids, was able to be more serious and more grounded and have a more realistic Batman than the movies (Without needing to become gothic and dark like Burton did) Keaton was very good.

But it baffles me that animated movies and even shows can do a better job with 10% of the budget and time of the big live action movies.

The Justice League movies are miles ahead of what Snyder did. the Superman in the movies is not cheesy and overly positive but he feels right. I dont know, I dont understand.

I guess the reason is because the animated stuff has people that CARE working on it, Goyer doesn't give a rat's butt about any of it. Joel Didn't really care about it, Burton himself never never read a comic book in his entire life.... it is almost a miracle that Batman came out as good as it did knowing that fact.

But I think the studio cannot bring the comic guys to work for the movies because of the unions or something (or so I heard)

According to Kevin Smith, the reason they don't hire comic book/cartoon writers is because just that- they write funny books and kids shows. Big budget studio execs have no faith in these people, regardless how acclaimed they are. If they did, Bruce Timm should have been running the live action DC stuff decades ago and we would have lived in a perfect world.

As for the animated stuff being better than live action, that's incredibly true. The DCAU stuff and the DC Animated Movies all blow the live action stuff out of the water, it's not even funny. My friend was a huge Man of Steel fan but I until I showed him the animated "Superman vs The Elite". :lol

I wish IrishJedi would chime in on this because I think there's something to that. We've seen movie and tv people write comics but rarely have I heard of a comics writer doing the script for a movie. I think Frank Miller did RoboCop 2, and John Byrne did Superman IV but wanted himself removed from the credits (that's the story I recall anyway).

How about we not rehash that. I don't want this thread to be a bash jedi tread too.

I'm interested in seeing what they add to this story to make it worth a movie. I hope it all fits well.
