Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

Probably my favorite track from the game.

You remember this from a ways back? The artist for ND, Marek Okon did it.

I'm assuming the game might have been in development longer than we thought, as early as 2014. Maybe the government is the antagonist in this one.

Shut up, I'm about to go to sleep, I can't get excited right now. Man, Santaolalla really hits the spot ;_;

I kinda guessed that from the trailer since as stated earlier, it comes off as a revenge plot.

https://www.kotaku.com.au/2016/12/the-last-of-us-2-will-be-a-game-about-hate/

"If the first game was really about the love between these two characters, this story is the counter of that," Druckmann explained early on. "This is story is about hate, through Ellie this time. The first game you play as Joel, this game you play as Ellie."

My MGS2 comparison kinda seems pretty apt now, since Joel will be the supporting character this time around, the same as Snake.
I think "Ghost Joel" would be a little to close to how they used Joker in AK.

Would be interesting though.
A combination of Joker and Snake then :lol

If you think about it, the trailer kinda gives it away, no?
Did you kill all these people? Did he just get there? Otherwise it'd be an obvious question, and the whole thing just comes off as Joel talking like he was her conscience.

Yeah I buy it.

I'm sad that Joel is ded now. ;_;

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

Lots of people think that's the case. If it is, I just hope it's done right.

Some art of Ellie.

If they did indeed start in 2014 as Wiki describes, it could be almost half way through it's development cycle. Would be nice to play it in the end of 2018, although that may be wishful thinking.

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

In AK it worked due to Batman being practically traumatized by everything Joker did over the years, since this is going off of the history they have outside of the comics. Plus fear toxin and all of that...but it did get out of hand with how Joker was taking over Batman.

Ghost Joel, I can't see working. At all. Could it work? Maybe.

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

What it comes down to, she lost everyone that she ever loved and Joel would just be another one on that list. She's always the survivor. It would probably be the only thing to really set her off at this point since she has nothing left.

The game is about hate, so I don't see any other catalyst to create that hate other than losing him.

I "hate" that I'm starting to buy into ghost Joel...

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

Maybe, Ellie losing everyone but Joel was a plot point in the section with Tommy. But...I don't see it happening. It looks too much like Joel is still there, maybe more 'subdued' due to his age. Yet Joel is shown to be pretty capable and aware of things that can, and will, go wrong and is very adaptable. He saw through the Hunters' ruses, wasn't trusting to Henry and Sam, and so on. He'd have to be ambushed honestly. I think only the Fireflies could be able to take him down, but I have to wonder how word of mouth got out that Joel slaughtered all of the ones with Marlene, and took Ellie. We're gonna need more information, such as why they're no longer with Tommy and his group.

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

but were forgetting the biggest plot element at the end of the game, Joel lied to Ellie, and killed the fireflies.

I have a feeling that lie is swelling to the point where it's traumatized Ellie. The trailer could be a nod to her rage after figuring out. Maybe she's abandoned Joel, and is just hearing his voice of wisdom.

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

also- on the point of maybe the Government being the enemy, maybe word has come out about how Ellie's immune and is after her.

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

I don't think that Joel is dead. I think he may die in this though

Well obviously, if Joel is dead we need to see it happen, no way it would happen "off camera."

I'm already feeling angry just thinking about it :lol

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

Technically speaking if this actually becomes a series or trilogy of some kind, Joel would probably die. Depending on how old Ellie is, Joel is already pushing 60, god forbid mid 60s. He's gonna be at his limits at some point, and this would play into things.

But I believe the government, the fireflies, the lie and everything will be coming back to haunt Ellie and Joel in this game. This also came up with Joel killing David's men in the Winter section, although we didn't see that coming obviously.

Troy Baker played the Joker in Arkham Origns so yes please!

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

Or…

I had no idea there was an agenda until the creator of the game came out and said he had one when making the first game. That news pops up on sites I frequently visit, I didn’t do some thorough research about it. Had Druckman not said anything, I probably wouldn’t have noticed, but after playing the game, and finding out he’s an uber feminist that did indeed have agenda makes me nervous for the sequel. Why is that wrong again?

You seem to be assuming a lot just to find an argument to some how try and expose me as some sexist pig :lol
I watched Druckman's presentation. He said it was important to him for the characters he writes to be honest & true to themselves. He also said he wanted to leave behind a character for his daughter who is worthy of being a role model. If that's what qualifies as an "uber feminist agenda" then sign me the hell up. Anyone who is made nervous by the possibility that a female character would be written to be both believable and a person worth aspiring to be has to have some deep-seated issues.

So I guess you’re going to ignore when he said he was inspired by Fem Frequency when creating the game? That would indeed make him an uber feminist. Did you not hear his interpretation of the ending of the game? Every time this guy does an interview he brings up sexism in games, that seems to be all thats on his mind. To me, that makes him just as much as Feminist as Joss Whedon.

Nobody is made nervous by that, and youre still not getting the point.

Do you really not see and have no idea what the difference is between our point and the one youre trying to peddle? Because your discussing something were not against, like youre discussing with imaginary people.

why can't you guys just let the politics go? it's almost thread crapping at this point- and in every thread you are in too? i'd say y'all are the ones with the agenda. :lol

Re: The Last of Us Part II (Confirmed, trailer posted)

Not sure why we keep getting mod reports on this thread. So far this thread seems like a healthy heated conversation.

Keep the discussions up and everyone remember to play nice. :grouphug

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Someone mistook this for their safe space apparently :lol

I go where the agendas are and open the eyes of the sheeple, you are welcome.

If by every thread you mean this and Rogue one, another thing which creators openly stated an agenda and I didnt bring that one up either, yeah.

I would if the creator of the game doesn't make it a point to bring it up every chance he gets. I simply made a comment about two fears I had with the game, first bringing back Ellie and Joel, and the second that I hope Druckman doesn't overdo it with his feminist agenda. Why that causes such an uproar I don't know.

And someone actually used the word threadcrapping seriously? :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

I don't know why people can't have healthy debates anymore. I've repeatedly said TLOU is one of the greatest games ever but point to some concerns about the sequel and people start reporting :lol
