Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

Just started my second play through but the game keeps freezing shortly after picking up Ellie. Damn.

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

Its the cutscene where Tess rejoins the party. It wont play, just freezes the system. I was really looking forward to another play through. I might try deleting everything, but that means starting from scratch.

You might wanna delete and re-install your game data. Also check the disc if it has dust, oil or grime on it. TLOU is one of those rare games that barely freezes as far as I can recall.

I've had glitches with Ellie but never did the game freeze.

Here's a video of my biggest problem :lol

I've had my game freeze a few times in two playthroughs on two different launch fatboys.

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

Ive had mine freeze once in each of my two playthroughs so far. At different spots, and after restarting the unit it loaded back up pretty well in the same spot/save point so no biggie. Sounds like some people have had real issues though. I remember the big save issue from the beginning, I think that got me when I first started.

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

Sorry if this has been posted in this thread before but I thought it really captured my feelings on this game and what it means at large, for gaming moving forward:

THE LAST OF US: OR, THE BACKWARDS POET WRITES IN VERSE (via cinekatz.com)

“A man’s at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he don’t want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there.”

- Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy

I finished playing Naughty Dog’s 2013 release The Last Of Us at around 8 PM Wednesday night. It was raining when I finished, much like it had been raining for the majority of the game’s 18 hour run time. Summertime in Georgia, and all. Rain is a factor. Upon completing the game, I powered down my PS3, turned off the television, set the controller on the TV stand, and sat with my chin on my hand for about half an hour watching the storm outside. I realized that I wanted to write about The Last Of Us, not so much in a quick review form as much a longer journal entry, or a Meditation, or maybe just an honest thank you note to the creators over at Naughty Dog in the event that someone from their team stumbles across these words. Whatever this piece ends up being, I present it to you here.

I will do my best to treat The Last Of Us as its own entity, but the fact of the matter is simple – The Last Of Us is the culmination of the last ten years of storytelling, and I just can’t talk about it intelligently without addressing other stories scattered throughout various mediums that came before it. Therefore, in the words of Captain Renault from my favorite film of all time, “Round up the usual suspects.” This article will be lengthy. Forgive me. I reckon I’ve just got a lot to say.

Continue here.

I'm in a serious TLOU haze right now and can't/don't want to shake it. Been listening to the soundtrack on repeat and reading about the game constantly....it's really amazing how submersive an experience they've created. :thud:

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

Thanks for linking that, it was a great read! I agree with everything the author said. From now on when people ask me what I think of the game, I'm going to link them that page. :lol

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

thanks for posting the article, i hadnt read it but doing so made me wanna replay the game so i think i'll take another shot at it tonight. i had started replaying killzone 2 and was planning on replaying kz3 too in anticipation of shadow fall but i probably wont get a ps4 till March or April of next year so i guess those can wait a while longer.

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

I finally tried the multiplayer and I have to admit I like it. Takes alittle bit to figure out how to upgrade and what not, but I had fun.

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

I like that setup Marf! I think I got the same Flashlight since the bulb of mine is deep within the port too. Did you rework the shirt? Since I know a few were complaining about the amount of red he painted on it. I'm still debating to get one through him or if Iminime will be doing clothing sets.

Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog

Damn that looks good Marf!!!! Well done. I have the same question at Snake. Is the shirt that good or does it require a little bit of added attention to get it to look right?
