Thanks a lot theguru1 for the license analysis. I just have one question if you don't mind. The fact that SS does not have the 1/6 LOTR and HOBBIT licenses is something you know for sure, probably from someone inside SS, or is it an assumption based on the fact that WETA has these licenses? Thanks again.

Currently it's my assumption based on Weta having the license for 1/6th and that in the past, no two companies have had the same license 'type' at the same time. Happy to be proved wrong, but so far, that's not happened.

Fritz, in none of that do that say that a 1/6th scale is coming, only that some LOTR pieces are still up their sleeves, in order words, in development.
I totally expect that some are still at various stages, and that it is the PF line or maybe the new 1/2 scale lines. Which is why I said that I do expect to see a PF or two (Hobbit and LOTR) 'soon'. But just because something is in development, Michael Tolentino himself said he doesn't know specifics, that can easily mean that while he knows stuff has been worked on, some of that could already now be on hold and Weta getting the 1/6th license back put a bit of a spanner in works.

From the moment Weta made that announcement, I assumed that a Merry/Pippin or any other new 1/6th scale statue wasn't going to come from SS, so far I'm still waiting to be proved wrong and by proof, I mean a pre-order listing, not some half crypt email about stuff coming. Actions speak louder then words and so far, there's been no action, other then by Weta.

Thanks theguru1. You are probably right but I also hope you are proved wrong and we get a fat announcement about 1/4 and 1/6 new collectibles soon. Well, we'll just have to wait and see...

Masterside is a Sideshow insider either works for them or is very very close to someone who does. You will never get that type of info like him

Thank for your kind words :1-1: :lol

Sideshow normally must submit a new piece on the Lord of the Rings before the end of the year. The Spooktacular is the event that has been chosen by the manufacturer to make the announcement.

wait & see!

It is nice to read something reassuring like that! Do I read it right that their license would require them to show at least one product per year, so they're "forced" to finally reveal something now?

My 2 hopes are a Saruman PF or Merry and Pippin maquette. I think it will be Saruman. I think SS doesn't have the 1/6 rights anymore.. We wait and see. It's just guess work for now

They may not have the license currently, but it is possible the M/P was approved before they lost it and is still coming. I do hope so for those that need that one.

I can say, Sideshow has not lost the rights for the 1:6 scale statues for lord of the rings.

So Middle-Earth enterprises has licensed the creation of limited edition 1/6th scale polystone statues for Lord of the Rings to both Sideshow and Weta at the same time.
Given that both are totally independent companies and we all expected Sideshow to release a Faramir statue, does this mean we could get two, limited edition statues, one from both of them next year?

That really would be a first, while making a farce of licensed 'limited edition' collectibles.

I think your mind is too focused precisely on the middle earth.

Look at Lucasfilm, Sideshow uses the 1:5 license Statue at the same time as other manufacturers like Attakus.

Hot Toys create achievements on the Sixth Scale Figure from Star Wars like Sideshow or even Medicom.

One can find other examples. Recent manufacturers (play imaginative, XM Studio) create achievements on Statues 1:4 scale of the latest film Iron Man, and Sideshow will make the same thing. :)

When was the last time Attakus released a 1/5 scale SW statue and when was the first time Sideshow released a 1/5 SW? Attakus was years ago and SS was very recent like last year or early this year? Did Attakus release new pieces at 1/5?

It is focused on ME because it is a middle/earth thread. If SS does have the licenses still to produce a variety of pieces why did they stop or is this just a break so to speak? If it is then ok and spooktacular will be another beginning of SS ME pieces. I am curious as what is happening to ME as we all are and not the other licenses or other companies

The last 1:5 Statue from Star Wars by Attakus is the Commander Cody Bronze. And he was released in July 2013.

Sideshow began publishing on the mythos line in 2011. I hope I've answered your question, adolfo.
