People, what is so hard to understand about a company not wanting to produce all the top tiered characters at once? It's practical business decision making 101. Seriously. They want to keep these lines going for a long time and have them generate cash for years to come. That means they can not and should not produce every tier 1 and 2 character consecutively. It makes no sense whatsoever. You're going to get some of the more esoteric characters in between. And I guarantee you, this piece will have relatively low numbers (comparitively speaking) and sell out with no problems whatsoever.

I guess with fans we are use to comparing Sideshow's contract Bowen's contract. It seems to me that Bowen has limits on how long they can work with characters. Most if not all of Bowen's contracts are for a year and he had to produce so many characters on a list. He normally cranks out a significant number of characters over what Sideshow does. Sideshow has more statue media types than Bowen but they are of far fewer characters types. Bowen produces full size & mini bust while Sideshow has PF's, comiquettes, LSB, Verse lines and Life Size Bust. Bowen may produce more a variety than Sideshow but they have less media type than Sideshow. Sideshow seems to have a longer contract than Bowen because they take their time releasing characters. Sideshow has been around for a few years and we just got to Thor. Bowen would have done a Thor a long time ago.

Now I don't expect Sideshow to produce the variety of characters that Bowen does because few people could afford that volumn especially the PF's and Comiquettes. I do however expect them to select more popular characters rather than unknowns especially expensive unknowns. I guess the problem that most collectors who are on a budget have with Sideshow is if they are going to put 5 or 6 expensive pieces every year at least pick a main stream character. Example when Sideshow annouced that a Mystique comiquette was being released just after a PF (that still hasn't sold out) was released, I scratched my head and said "if any AH female that needs to done it would be The Invisible Women. I do like the fact that She Hulk is being done but another Mystique? You got me on that and I'll never understand that decision.

As for Manthing I will say this, if the price is high (like Abom) this will not sell well despite the light up eyes and all. I rather spend my hard earned money on a Thanos with a light-up gauntlet or a classic Juggernaut than Manthing with light up eyes any day of the week. The Thing is a more popular character than Manthing and Modern Thing still hasn't sold out even with a price reduction. Manthing had better be real cheap or I see a lot of these sitting in Sideshow wearhouse collecting dust.

This part is simple, they are separate lines and treated as such. AH! and the Brooks Comiquette lines are completely dependent on the artist's character choice, they choose them, take them for approval and they are done. So the choice of Mystique as the next one was Hughes' not Sideshow particularly. As for the PFs/Comiquettes those are decided upon by Sideshow Marvel staff and there I'm sure is rationale behind that as well. Don't expect what goes on in the AH! line, the Mark Brooks line and the PF line to effect one another whatsoever, DarthSaffron (AH! Girlfriend) was even quoted in saying that what Adam chooses does not have an effect on choices for Mark Brooks and vice versa so you might even see some of the same characters repeated in the Brooks line that where in the AH! line.

As for this, if SSC keeps the ES low, it'll sell just fine. People were over the moon about Abomination but with the Edition size was announced so high people canceled knowing it'd be an easier piece to obtain. If they kept the ES about half of what it was or even lower you wouldn't hear about as many cancelations.

There should be coordination on the lines. Could you imagine if Mark Brooks next sculpt is a Mystique. There should be a period of time of at least a year between the same character being released in two different lines. Obviously busts and dioramas are sufficentially different lines.

If they make MT TBD, they're gonna have alot of leftover stock. In truth, even if this does have a low ES, dosen't mean it's going to be sought after. Plus SS needs to make money off this Thing. I expect a ES on the EX to be no lower than 200.

As of right now, this thread is as popular as the Namor thread, if not less popular. That says alot of about this piece.

Also, they gave us DD, just not in the form we wanted :doh The LSB did come out really nice though.

I don't think they are that uncoordinated, the PF in the modern costume and the AH! in Classic is probably more tolerable because they are different incarnations just like the Classic Iron Man Comiquette being offered and soon after the film inspired Mark 1 Maquette. I don't think they'd tell either Adam Hughes or Mark Brooks no either though.

What I was more referring to is that while Dagger was a different character offered it seems like we shouldn't be too surprised if Brooks then give us an Emma Frost Comiquette or Mary Jane Comiquette and we shouldn't be surprised if Adam Hughes decides to do his own incarnation of Dagger.

I don't think the next Mark Brooks piece will be Mystique although I doubt its out of the realm of possibilities but I would be shocked if it were Black Cat.

jeez i hope they aren't planning on doing this. i'm not the kind of collector who needs every incarnation...only the best one.
