The Man-Thing - Comiquette

I think we are unfortunately getting to the point of beating the dead horse. I have no problem with the occasional obscure, B/C character as long as Sideshow throws out a few major characters in; other than Namor (which was horrid imho), after Thor, we have gotten little in the line of core characters in a LONG time. I think it is hypocritical to lecture people about being disappointed and frustrated by the lack of popular characters in the PF/Comiquette format WHEN CORE CHARACTERS IN THOSE FORMATS ARE WHAT MADE SIDESHOW POPULAR in the first place!

Some people like the obscure and some claim to be fans of Man-Thing. Good for you, pick this up and be happy. This will probably look amazing, as most Sideshow products do. But I have said it before, do an advanced search under Marvel for Man-Thing and see how many hits you get.

Hey relaxxx, as soon as the new Man-Thing movie (starring Zack Efron as the Man-Thing) comes out, then most who said they will pass will be getting their wallets out and saying how they 'get it' now.

For me, the obscure sculpts are key as there are a million choices for the mainstream/movie franchise pieces, especially the feeding frenzy when the movie comes out. That mess just makes me want to puke on it to cover it up.

So I am already in love with just the idea of this Man-Thing piece and so far it looks great too. Obscure characters need to see the light of day and this is why I love Bowen so much, I'm even more excited when Side Show pulls one out of their @ss.

The big difference is the number of statues that Bowen puts out every year vs. Sideshow. With Sideshow's relatively limited releases during the year every one counts.

Bowen put out a mini bust and I sure hope SS does turn out a full size.

Being a classic Marvel fan with no interest in anything late 1980's onward, including crap like venom and carnage and cable and spiral and mcfarlane and lee and liefeld and wizard hot artist of the month, etc., I'm pretty happy to see SS producing things like this.

I missed out on the Universal Monsters Dracula. I wouldn't mind having a 1970's Marvel Dracula. Diamond actually made a very nice Dracula statue. Or was that Bowen? Either way it was a grand slam. Would love a PF!

People, what is so hard to understand about a company not wanting to produce all the top tiered characters at once? It's practical business decision making 101. Seriously. They want to keep these lines going for a long time and have them generate cash for years to come. That means they can not and should not produce every tier 1 and 2 character consecutively. It makes no sense whatsoever. You're going to get some of the more esoteric characters in between. And I guarantee you, this piece will have relatively low numbers (comparitively speaking) and sell out with no problems whatsoever.
