The overacting and hamming it up was hilarious. I think it was intentional.

When they kicked him into the empty cell and all hooted and laughed it was straight out of the 60s Batman show, it was so over-the-top.

Agreed. The campy-ness was definitely intended. They all still felt like they existed in a star wars universe. Even Bill Burr! Who I thought was gunna play a much smaller cameo role. Humor was great in this episode and as someone who has always been a fan of "putting together a team..." heist type scenarios, I loved it.

So at the end of 2019, we got Bill Burr doing a canon, in-universe Jar Jar impression.

What does 2020 have in store??

Not only Dave, but the other 2 were also 2 of the directors!

Yeah, I get the hamming-up, etc, but how many times does she need to snarl (or whatever you call it), like a vampire? Once or twice at appropriate moments would have had way more impact - but after a while, I just wanted to shove a tennis ball in her mouth.

This is a fun episode.

Loved the Twi'lek Harley Quinn. :lol

First thing I thought of when she showed up.

Really? Her acting (and her brother) was soooooo bad.[...]

It's *such* a fine line. I'll give you that they were bad, but it was an entertaining kind of scenery-chewing. They also had a bit of a Spike and Drusilla vibe.

[...]

It's funny that they think they can get any kind of tension out of putting The Child in "danger" at this point.[...]

Like remember how before TFA they thought everyone was just gonna LOOOOOVVVE BB-8, and instead, we all kind of shrugged, and now you can find any BB-8 you want for like 2 bucks? Baby Yoda is the real deal.

Lil Womp Rat's cute enough that the audience still reacts. And of course, it's child-traumatizing Disney. :lol

...would have liked to see the big dalek fire off a few rounds, but that was a good scene. Oh, and robot Moss! lol

Those were floating, weaponized versions of the big droid seen on Tatooine in ANH .. it has a name but I refuse to check Wookiepedia. ;)

When Ian McDiarmid chews on scenery you kinda love it. They weren't on his level but the campiness worked IMO.

Did anyone else notice what stone-cold, relaxed killers the
X-Wing pilots
were?

I didn't realize that those were cameos at the end of the episode, but their stilted line delivery kind of stood out to me as rather amateur-ish.

Now I know why.

Really liked the scene before, but it's even better now knowing who they are.

What a freaking amazingly fun episode holy death dealing stone cold Xwing pilots no questions asked executioners.

The loud mouthed tough ones always lose out to the silent one.

When he arrived back at whistlers base I almost started thinking that his real mission was to eliminate the team for his old pal whistler but nope what a POS that **** bag turned out to be.

Loved every single character the over acting is part of the charm.

Baby yoda truly is the real deal i?m loving his relationship with the baby.

Yeah, there needs to be a two-pack of the Mandalorian with the child in the floating basket. They seem incomplete without each other. Like Itto without Daigoro.

Yeah, this is the type of episode I expected when they first mentioned the series. Good fun for the most part. I still don't care for the music. Good music can really elevate material.

Incredible episode for me:love. Like bein' at Alamo Drafthouse and go all in for the endless popcorn, the french vanilla shake, the pizza, and top it off with the fresh homemade still-warm cookies. AND u go home with the collectible Mondo glass and the pins.

Stuffed with satisfying action hero movie tropes and *epic Mando badassery*. Nice use of strobe lights and action twists. only complaint:

wish he'd gutted everyone 'coz they deserved it, but whatever. And I wish Baby had popped insectoid head off, but Mando hates droids so that works. Shame the hairy guy (didn't catch the name) was such a *&^%. Always a fan of knife work.

It's funny that they think they can get any kind of tension out of putting The Child in "danger" at this point. I honestly didn't know what would happen to him at the end of the first few eps....I mean, I knew he wasn't gonna get KILLED or anything, but I thought his story would end with him being left someplace safe and secure. I didn't know he was gonna be the co-star.

I WAS tense. 'Coz didn't know if droid-bug would fly off with him etc. Feel a lot better now.:drink

Didn't think anyone was overacting - maybe a bit of imitation (Harley Quinn) but slime tends to behave like slime. Got to freak out over baby.

This is the way.:clap

The dynamics between the characters were great they really did feel like scum and villainy too me.

Definitely. I wanted to grab my Hasbro Infinity Gauntlet and dust 'em (except like a responsible collector took the batteries out:crying:cool:)

Some good lines too I thought:lol. Euw creepy bro-sis vibe. Sort've reminded me of characters in Aliens 3 here and there, or at least a bit of the dynamics. Mashed up with Expendables. More interesting backstory hints. LOL I think baby gets more than he lets on:monkey3

I liked that creepy droid Zero. And nice to see Clancey Brown after so long.

Also the old man that gave Mando the job made me nervous. He also reminded me a bit of the original "human Jabba" scene with Han.

I thought either or both would turn, but not, the *&^%. Or baby would float droid-bug and mash him against ceiling:lol. At least Mando got paid.

Didn't stick around for the end credits and missed that it was Clancy Brown! Nice!

Too bad, Zero could have been a nice nemesis. Especially with what he knows and learned and the fact that Mando hates droids.

Yeah. But *boots* from episode 5. Suspect Favreau will do good episodes 7 & 8. Tho I CAN wait, 'coz then hafta wait on Season 2.:sick:crying

But I can hope for an extended BR release *binge watch* if Favreau isn't as fussy as the Russos, who never do much in that dept. IMO. And the art book.
