A very good episode. Deserves another immediate viewing!
I believe the series is just her directing.......I enjoyed her take on the two stories she directed of Mando so hopes are high they won't ruin it.
As much as I like Ugnolte I think him actually being killed protecting the child would add some weight and get us thinking that almost any character we care about could actually die. Possibilities like that in a show add some real tension and unpredictability to a series.

That whole twist at the end is going to make for a more interesting second season too I think. It was fine seeing Mando be the child’s protector for a while but now I want to see it go in a different direction. Not just episode after episode of “keep the child safe, keep the child hidden”.

Having watched TROS makes me appreciate The Mandalorian even more. It feels like the real deal, as opposed to the Robot Chicken style spoof that the ST turned out to be.
May he have many more seasons.
So now there would be the urgency of "find the child before he gets fed to someone awful" ...
It's only now I think he *may* have survived, but as much as I like the character, I hope not for the sake of a more tense and weighty narrative.
I don't get that "..for three of your lifetimes..." line given that the Empire wasn't around for that long.

I really like his character too(obviously) but I agree it's important to have stakes, consequences, and unpredictability in an action adventure show. Game of Thrones often did this very well. If Kuiil is gone it's sad but a brave sacrifice only makes me like him as a character even more.
