George Lucas:

1. Created the OT and changed pop culture forever
2. Created Indiana Jones
3. Has never lashed out at 50% of the fanbase

The day that RJ approaches achieving even one of those things is the day I'll consider cutting him the same slack as Lucas.

Not just that.

Revolutionized not only how image and sound is created but also presented theatrically and at home. :lecture

Then he gave us Howard the Duck and Boss Nads lol

But you’re 100% right RJ has not earned not even 1/10 of forgiveness that George Lucas has earned and that’s coming from someone who agrees that Lucas is not a good director on his own.

That's right I forgot

Created ILM
Created Pixar

Lol at RJ and him being of equal standing.

No he isn't a good director and can't write good dialogue to save his life and I'll take TLJ as canon any day of the week over AOTC but no one should be surprised if there is more goodwill toward George than RJ.

Point taken.

I liked RJ other films, but I do not believe in cutting any creator slack because once, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, his did something good.

Spielberg gets crapped on regularly and hes created WAY more iconic fils than GL, (including Indiana Jones)

And while on that subject, he’s only 50% on my radar for those films. 2 great, two so bad I cannot watch them.

I enjoyed Looper (thought it was good but not great) and I've never contended that TLJ is bad or ruins the Saga. Certainly not as bad as what AOTC did IMO. I just find it more annoying now with regard to how the heroes and villains respond to their respective challenges. They really are a bunch of idiots. But its beautifully shot, well acted, has great visuals and moves at a good clip despite the long running time so if TROS does what I think it's going to do I'll have no problem turning a blind eye to TLJ's shortcomings.

I just can't get behind RJ himself any longer and hope he is sent far, far away from ever touching SW again.

We know where the SW franchise misfits end up if they drop the ball.

I will forever think of Trank as having a cute propeller on his head lol

You know as much as I hate to admit it I might have to add Gareth Edwards onto the SW island of misfit directors and producers because the guy has completely disappeared from the face of the earth which is just sad because my man was super passionate about SW and I loved his cameos.

I mean even Rian got a second chance lol

Rick Mcallum is the worst thing to happen the SW in my mind.

He reminds me of a lickspittle.....what every came out of George, Rick loved and polished his shoes on. Anything he did alter , was made MUCH worse by his guy who had no idea what SW was.

He’s the worst kind of corporate lacky. Every time he speaks on the behind the scenes, I want to smack him.

I had an opportunity to meet McCallum back in his LFL days and just missed out and was kind of bummed out at the time - don't feel that way any more.:lol

So you cant binge it......

Will keep the hype going weekly.

Like GOT...

But you can eventually binge it.

I thought he was saying that they won’t let you watch episodes after they already aired.

I’m actually not a fan of binge watching. I much prefer the weekly discussion without everyone crying about spoilers left and right. Not saying there won’t be in a weekly episode but at least more concise discussions and theories make it more enjoyable. To me, at least.

While i’m now addicted to the binge model I see multiple reasons why Disney should do it.

Be different than Netflix’s dump and forget model. Seriously other than Stranger Things Netflix just dumps with little fanfare and then jumps to the next big thing.

Allows Disney to stretch out products because of limited content at the moment.

Gives it that old school delivery feel that fits perfectly with the OT vibe.

Makes the show feel special instead of dump and run like Netflix.

Perfect marketing build up towards IX everyone thinking of SW for over a month indtead of concentrating on other movies.

It all sounds very reasonable for me.

Yea if available , I will binge 3-4 episodes at a time. Sometimes that helps a show .
TWD last few seasons went up a few notches in my eyes, being able to see the arcs over the episodes in a few hours rather than weeks, were it lost something.

So long as we get older episodes backlogged its fine.

If they do what AMC did and only back log 3 episodes at a time? Then Ill wait for disc release.
