Yep we just saw Snoke himself and where will TurdFurguson and Ducky be next week? Watching the new episode with baited breath, that's where, lol. Audiences aren't going *anywhere* as long as the quality keeps up. :)

:lol

Yep. 3:00 in the morning 'coz am obsessed. :google. Glad it's the holiday weekend tho so *&^% normal sleep cycles which will be messed up anyway. I can wallow on the couch in my Mon Calamari sweater with a turkey sandwich. Maybe binge watch all episodes.

You claim the ST is going nowhere... and yet.... it is going nowhere.

No new novels.

No new animated projects.

No new toys.

ST caused all future projects to be delayed for a time.

Do you ST lovers live in a fantasy land, devoid of facts and logic?

You ST lovers can cry into your pillows and keep up with the hopeful delusions of the ST ever gaining any relevancy again.

Its not getting ignored by Disney in terms of Canon.. Sorry if you misunderstood that.

You can proceed to cry.

My reaction anytime a I see the three stooges talking ST theories trying to make it fit.

First off talking theories is part of being a SW fan.. 2nd.. I sense great fear in you that this show might be making some references to the ST. :lol

Imagine trying to convince yourself of the ST being ?here to stay? based on a lego cartoon :lol

Where are the novels?

Where are the video games?

Where are the toys?

Where are the movies?

Where are the animated shows?

PT/OT have em all, but the ST doesn?t.

Since kids love SW and kids love Legos I would say that Disney is appealing to the kids with the Lego Cartoon.

Those same kids that will grow up and and not understand the hate thrown at the ST just like the kids that are adults today that cant understand the hate thrown at the PT.

He literally ends the video saying they are Dark Troopers.

Countless articles state they are dark troopers.

Well that one clone sure looked like Snoke.. and if there was a snoke theme then there you have it..

There is also the mention that uniforms of some of the officers are starting to take on a First order look..

There is also the point about a "test subject" being killed. So who knows what is going on there. Palps or Snoke maybe.??

If its not then its not.. Its still fun to have theories.

So strange to see ST haters have such blind hatred for the films that they think a series as popular as Mando will suddenly fail if it even hints at the ST..

I hated me some PT but TCW gave it new life. Seems like ST haters would welcome the same.

Exactly. Disney won?t touch the ST with a ten foot pole because they know it is very toxic to their bottom line and health of the franchise.

Time will tell.. For better or worse the ST like the PT its still Canon.

As much as I hate the ST, there are obviously still fans that love it and want more of it. Star Wars can be for everyone and anyone, that's the best thing about it.

Ive said this a million times.. But with all my interactions I have had in real life I have only met three people who did not like the ST.. but have met way more that do like it.. Before TROS I was one of the haters that use to argue with the fans of the first two films.

I am a bit older but work in an IT department so I am surrounded by SW fans. We all agree that the OT is by far the best. The PT is a mess and the ST is hit or miss.

But one thing remains.. We all love SW and if you give us some good stories we end up forgiving the things we dont like.

Wanting a well done trilogy of movies that fit within the parameters and characters of the existing franchise is not gatekeeping.

I assume you hate PT also then? If so I respect you consistency.

But making out like peoples opinions who like the ST are somehow less valid, is. I'm not trying to start beef or anything and I'm not sure if that's how you meant your comments to come across, but that's how they come across to me :dunno.

As I've said, I agree with you, the ST is a pile of garbage. But I'm fine with competent writers and directors trying to tackle some of the issues with them and adding to them in a signficant and meaningful way.

Well said.. I think the PT is a pile of garbage in terms of film making but pick and choose some things I like because its SW. TCW was a solid show that helped me enjoy the PT and I rolled with it.

I still would never own an Anakin collectible but at least now I can accept him as part of the SW universe.

Well said! It's nice to have a common mindset on being a fan even if we have wildly different opinions on what constitutes "good" Star Wars. TurdFurguson sometimes comes across the same way and other times he just goes full Ducky like what we're seeing now. But cut him some slack, he's a card carrying ST hater who just saw Supreme Leader Snoke appear in Mando immediately after giving Hasbro/LFL $350 of his hard earned cash. ;)

:lol :lol :lol

The baited breath for both of them now will be that the Show does not recognize the ST... They will jump to their feet in triumph with first in the air if nothing about the ST theories comes to fruition. They will burry their heads in their pillow and scream in pain if it does.

Not only that but the new Lego Holiday Special barely acknowledged the PT besides having the characters time-traveling through the entire Saga. The main characters (TROS Rey and Kylo/ROTJ Palps and Vader) were all OT/ST. So much for mining the supposed golden goose that is the PT/TCW, lol.

And more then anything the Lego show is made to sell toys.. So I guess they know that the kids like it.

Ouch

Be gentle please lol

Honestly the ST haters can relax I don’t think Mando will ever address the creation of Snoke.

I acknowledge that it had a lot of problems and at times wasn't very good. I did still enjoy parts of the movies, enough so to collect some of the toys. I don't feel it was ever intentionally hostile towards the OT and unfortunately the same cannot be said about the ST. The PT at least attempted(and at times failed) to build on and respect the franchise. The ST ultimately became the worst kind of malicious appropriation.

Maybe Moff Gideon & company capture Baby Yoda and determine that the only way to create a viable host for Palpatine's essence is to use BY as the vessel - i.e., The Child becomes Snoke, morphing into his unsightly form due to being corrupted by Palp's evil spirit! Talk about a twist no one saw coming! IMO it would be worth it just to be able to sit back and watch the internet explode - not to mention Ducky & Turd's heads. :rotfl

Obviously, this wouldn't happen until Disney has milked the BY cuteness cow for every last cent via any & every piece of conceivable merchandise. :D

I really love the new season of Mando and seeing everything unfold is nice since we don't really know what to expect. A nice touch seeing some of the old toys show up in a meaningful way. Weathers did a great job directing this last episode to. Had the right balance of tension and humor in it. Visually the show is a juggernaut and the care in the special effects is evident. As far as anything that may lead to the sequel trilogy or have a link to the prequel trilogy is just showing that this takes place in the same galaxy. I love Star Wars and am glad we have something as cool as this show. Not every movie is every fans favorite. I like aspects of the sequels and the prequels and the original trilogy. They all have their cheesiness and their good points. For me this show has been really good overall and I hope that they can keep the momentum up. It's a fun ride to be on.

Honestly I have no idea about the sales of toys and how it all works.. But Lego movies are geared right at the kids and I would assume there must be a reason they focused on the ST for the new show.

Lego is Lego. They make alot of little skits that nobody watches. Remember the Yoda Chronicles? Neither does anyone else. They made a couple recent-ish ST sets but very small, nothing that costs a significant amount of money.

:lol:lol:lol

Personally don't hate the ST it's the ST we deserve:wink1:. Just like that rubbery Black Panther sequence...:monkey3esp. TROS we wanted MORE and we got MORE to the point I didn't even follow what the &^%$ was going on...:google

'coz IMO we don't deserve anything this good, week after week....:drool:clap

That's just visual and lighting. Plus charismatic cast and this whole journey in the SW universe courtesy of 2 uber-skilled fanboys. I'd watch the show just to see Mando drop from the sky in what seems to be a signature move.

Baby looks like me on the couch:lol. There are no words for how much I luv this show.

Aren't the last several pages of this thread a perfect illustration of why Disney would have to be stupid af to introduce ST subject matter into The Mandalorian? :lol

This show, so far, has generated no hate whatsoever. All sides of the fan debates are at least neutral on it, if not outright enjoying it. The discussions, up until these last 2 days, have been about the stories themselves. Risking any association with the ST is risking making Mando yet another divisive property. That would be an utterly insane thing to do with Disney's most popular SW creation.

Personally, I don't care if this show goes there since I'm not an ST hater. As apathetic as I've gotten about the ST, it could only help me re-embrace it at this point. But if they do go there, I think it's confirmation that only morons and tone-deaf people are in charge of the franchise.

If they want to do for the ST what TCW did for the PT, then the right thing to do would be to make an animated show about the New Republic era with Luke's Jedi Academy, Ben Solo's corruption, Snoke's ascendancy, and flesh out all the "Sith Eternal" Palpatine nonsense. Have it be its own thing that doesn't pollute something as popular as Mando. Keep Mando pure to preserve the good will it has (miraculously) built.

Umm did you not watch the previous episode lol

Yeah, sure did. What I saw was a murky pickled being that could look like Snoke if you want it to, or could look like a deformed version of a failed clone attempt for something completely unrelated to the ST.

There's still time for them to steer clear of this iceberg since I doubt that any Snoke/Palpatine/ST connections to this recent episode have been confirmed anywhere in the next four that have actually been filmed. If that turns out to be the case, they'd be smart to turn the ship around if that's where they were taking it. Just my 2 cents.

:goodpost::exactly:

And IMO Favreau and Filoni are too good of writers to need to tangle in with the ST. Besides, Favreau went to Disney with an arc in hand. He already knew what he wanted to do. Filoni talks about the "leftover toys".

Am hoping at least some of what they have in mind is adding to the lore of Mandalore - taking back the planet and culture. A narrative like that disturbs nothing in the ST. Far as I know there was no mention of Mandalorians in the ST - maybe a few ships showed up in the end for the last battle, that's about it.

I could be totally wrong, but I sense that Favreau and Filoni have two different visions for what they want this show to be. Filoni seems to want this to be a live-action extension of TCW and Rebels. Favreau, on the other hand, seems more interested in an OT extension with bits of the old EU sprinkled in.

Maybe Filoni will focus on spinoff shows dealing with TCW/Rebels Mandalore business, and Favs will get to focus on the other stuff. Or, I could be completely wrong and the two of them are unified in wanting to go in both directions. It can work either way. :lol

I like to think of it as the good kind of artistic tension tho. The way they talk - there's a lot of freedom to do their thing - and letting their directors do their thing - but while the show shifts in tone, I think it works for a long term (hope) series. Like water sloshing back and forth. And assume they are both learning as they go from their different backgrounds.

Obviously, this wouldn't happen until Disney has milked the BY cuteness cow for every last cent via any & every piece of conceivable merchandise.

Baby will never be UN-cute. It's genius. Long lived species. Unlike Baby Groot this show would have to run for 100 years.
BTW there's it's hilarious watching Baby munch cookies through a gun battle:lol. This is some upbringing the uber-Force user is getting. Visiting fighting pits and questionable sea ports.

Usually I run away from saccharine cuteness but there's something about the Child where I ended up with a plushy. And the notorious egg canister Funko is on PO.:monkey3

Considering that the episode the majority of fans are calling their favorite of the entire series is also the one that seems to link most directly to the ST I'll go with "no, they wouldn't be stupid" to continue that trend. :)

Two guys who were 8-10 years old when the PT came out complaining on the internet won't be enough to change the course of the franchise. People were already complaining about Mando anyway. "It feels too much like a bad TV show, it has way too much fan service, it's all about the stupid merchandise gimmick of Baby Yoda, Mando got beat up by a girl, Mando got beat up by a Trump supporter, why do women have ****s, bla bla bla." So adding "wah I hate the ST" to the mix will just be more white noise in the background of an already great show. ;)

Besides if I have to see TM's face then yeah the PT fans can put on their big boy pants and take a gander at Snoke, lol.
