The show looks great by the trailer. I can't wait to what they do with the character. I really hope it's a new character and not Fett. I know a lot of fans would disagree but I don't think everything has to be connected in this universe. Fett looked cool and still sounds cool in the Harmy Versions but I don't want to think about his greatest feat being that he escaped the sarlacc pit like a rejected suppository.

I've been reading stupid comments on the Blu-ray.com forum about this show. It seems as though there are a gaggle of narrow-minded Star Wars fans that only likes the episodic movies. To date the best new Star Wars content has most definitely NOT been the episodic stuff.

Except that that *won't* be his greatest feat if The Mandalorian is any indication. :) Did you see where it looks like he's going to use a door to slice a dude in half? :panic: :thud:

Everything about that trailer is super slick.

They seem to be leaning into the gritty texture at the heart of Star Wars art direction instead of the saccharine sentimentality that Disney tried to push with the ST.

Blended with a modern sensibility for suspense and kinetic action.

I have high hopes for this one. I also think that episodic television is the best place for Star Wars now that the technology and money is available for it. Remember that it came from serial television in the first place. :lecture

I hope not too. But as much as this show looks to be the best thing since the OT, I kind of wish they just made a whole new armored badass bounty hunter instead of once again using what was once Boba Fett's uniqueness.

It's like if every Sith villain wore a black mask similar to Vader.

Um that's literally what you're advocating when you say you want another badass bounty hunter who dresses like Fett, lol. Let the Mandalorian be Fett and therefore actually *retain* his uniqueness. :lecture

This looks like one of those fan films you would see on a TV set playing at a booth at a comic convention in the 90s/early 2000s. You know, where the vendor had a table filled with all those different fan film Batman, Star Wars and Matrix VHS tapes.

Think about that for a second. You could take that trailer, go back in time to 1999, throw it on a tv and most people wouldnt even pay attention to it. Fans would care more about the Episode I - II. :lol

The only thing missing is a Matrix soundtrack accompanying it.

What? No, I said the opposite -- I DON'T want another badass bounty hunter dressed in Mandalorian armor just like Boba Fett. I said that's what made Fett unique and cool. His daddy ruined it enough -- so now Fett is a copy-cat. And now we have yet another guy who adopted the Mandalorian armor while playing bounty hunter.

So, in some ways, it would suit the mystery of the Mandalorian if he was indeed Fett after all. But I'd still prefer a completely different bounty hunter in a different costume.

Oh in a *different* costume. :lol I thought you meant another guy in *Fett's* armor like a Jango 2.0, a copy of a copy (which is exactly what the Mandalorian will be if he turns out to be someone other than Boba.)

Okay my mistake, your position makes sense, carry on. ;)

I do believe Disney is keeping their options open as to whether one day they will reveal that the Mandalorian is actually Boba Fett, survived from the Sarlacc, and having given himself a new alias.

It makes sense given the timeline, and the loss of his armor -- perhaps ruined by digestive juices.

Now you know me, I'm not big on villains coming back after their death (Maul) but in this case I would be willing to make an exception if only to keep Disney from making more Broom Boys into Mandalorian-wearing bounty hunters.

It even has an Endo IG 88 puppet lol

If it is Boba Fett, why did he revamp his armor? Why get rid of Slave I?

Also, the Jango and Boba costumes look cooler than this thing. This one looks too fat and is missing a jet pack.
