Holy crap lulz

The fact that the child actually has a name now and is no way related to the real Yoda puzzles me why people still call him “ Baby Yoda “ :cuckoo:

Because his real name sounds like something from a hardware store. Or a Tolkien orc. Can't imagine what Favreau was thinking. There's a reason Anakin is named something like like Anakin Skywalker vs. S'nish Yanacoo.

What would you name him instead?

See Boba boots.

That is a big fail.

That looks earth made for desert wear or mad max cosplay. .

OT Fett had funky boots and coverings that looked SW. .

Morrison looks like a 60yr old man. Def. has a belly enjoying life.

Meanwhile the actress that plays the sniper is about the same age, and def. does not look like she is close to 60.

I do think Mando is in need of a big SW space battle scene to close of the season or at least the build up to one.

Just a dose of a big group of ships of the Mandalorian Empire Republic conflict.

Maybe GAT shows up with an armada.

I don’t know a quick infusion of big holy crap this is still SW to get the geek juices flowing some more.

Been idly pondering that...

Offhand I'd say something that rolls off the tongue better in Western languages anyway IMO.

Yoda, Anakin, Cara Dune, Din D'jarin, Qui-Gon, Padme Almidala - almost like musical beats. Even Jar-jar. Heck, even villains like Asajj Ventress have cool names.

Then there's Gro-goo. Grogew. Grogu. Just - no. Keep thinking of pierogis and German sausage. *Grogu is a popular dish in Eastern Europe, similar to Scottish haggis, except the innards are baked in a goat stomach instead of sheep...*

Suspect Favreau came up with the name and possibly regrets it, after the explosive popularity of the character.

Meanwhile...
Disney will massively ramp up the volume of Marvel and Star Wars series on its Disney+ streaming service.

Kareem Daniel, Chairman, Media and Entertainment Distribution for The Walt Disney Company, revealed Wednesday during the Disney Investor Day presentation that it would launch ?roughly? 10 Marvel series, 10 Star Wars series and 15 live-action, animation and Pixar series over the next few years.

?With these Disney+ originals, along with theatrical releases and library titles, we will be adding something new to the service every week,? he said.

Fifteen all-new Disney live-action, Disney Animation, and Pixar features will also be released directly on Disney+.

Wow, not long ago I watching snark YT about how SW had tanked and would fade away thanks to KK, Disney, and SJWs. Looking forward to Disney hiking the price of its service:cool:

So I?m a native English speaker and have no such problems with the name, rolls off the tongue just fine.

If I had to compare the phonemes to a real language, I?d say maybe Japanese comes to mind first; which if anything seems appropriate to me given the show?s vibe at times.

Your speculation that Favreau or whoever regrets it is ... well ... odd to me. We have no way of knowing it?s just that you hate the name. :lol

I don?t think any name could have pleased everyone. I happen to like it but it?s such an arbitrary and subjective thing.

Although I wouldn?t name my kid Grogu. Maybe a chihuahua or something. ;)
