Let's all chill like Wompa's in an ice bath guys. We don't need this negativity in the Mandalorian thread (save that for all the other Star Wars threads). The Mandalorian healed the fanbase man and we can all relax here. Some of us are relieved that Luke is back the way he should always have been and the ST is being ignored. Whilst others of us see the return of Luke as the missing link between ROTJ and TLJ Luke's and love the not so hidden easter eggs with their connections to the ST era. Whatever your choice of milk, be it blue or green, there is something here for everyone.

Now to clear the mynocks from the thread. Repeat after me:

Episodes 1-6 are the Skywalker Saga.

Episodes 1-9 are the Palpatine Palaver.

It's all good anyways, because DoomKhev has prophesized in his latest video that a new retcon ST is on the horizon and it contains at least a scene with the Han, Luke and Leia back together (allegedly filmed at the time of TFA). Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So is American Psycho 2 "canon?"

Bret Easton Ellis didn't write it. Christian Bale wasn't in it. But there's a movie with the title "American Psycho 2" and it's owned by the same people that own the copyright to the title of the first movie.

So is it "canon" even though nobody that had anything to do with American Psycho was involved with it? I mean....the label on the DVD says "American Psycho 2" so I suppose it's an official part of the Patrick Bateman Saga, even though he's not played by Bale and he gets killed in the first few minutes by Mila Kunis. Even though it was literally another movie that they retitled "American Psycho 2" at the very last minute to cash in on the popularity of the first movie, it still counts right?

I guess it's canon. Khev said whoever owns the copyright gets to dictate that....not the creators of the actual story.

Nope. Not talking about what is canon at all. Maybe some day you'll figure that out, lol.

Doomcock is clueless. Mark Hamill has publicly stated many times that one of the most disappointing things about the ST for him was that the way they wrote the story (with Han dying in TFA) prevented him from ever being able to work with Harrison again. They shot no such scene.

Doomcock knows the RETCON IS COMING. What a glorious day.

Soon the ST will be finished. At last, we will reveal ourselves to the corporate overlords. At last, we will have revenge!

Now that Mando Luke is being hailed as the greatest single modern SW event they should change the title to:

Mandalorian: The continuation of the Skywalker Saga

That way it will be a perfect fit for when it eventually connects to the ST lol

What d'ya mean eventually? It already did....those pickle jars in the lab were not an accident.

Just waiting for toddler Kylo to make an appearance.:pfft:

Tho if they do a GOT thing where Kylo is a snotty little *&&^% being a powerful prince and all, and Grogu slaps him like
Tyrion slaps Joffrey, I'm all in.:devil

Then Grogu gets sent home as incorrigible back where he belongs, with Din D'jarin. A FAILED Jedi which would at least keep him from
being Yoda v2.

This is nice except there ARE a group of folks like me - not necessarily on this board - who are none too thrilled about the backslide into anything connected with the Skywalkers. Or rehash. It's not what we were watching the series for.

Also, I never would have handled a Luke appearance that way, and that early in the series. Am still frosted over CARING about a series and then - d@mn that was depressing. As in, am still debating over whether to cancel my Sideshow Child statue PO depressing.

Just sayin'. Tho I wouldn't have called myself an SW uber-fan anyway, at least not until Mando. TBH sometimes in a weird way I wonder if I care more about SW than most, in that, IMO this series, and others, desperately needed some space between the SKYWALKERS and repeat characters like Solo. It's like there's this huge galaxy of aliens and people doing other stuff besides the Skywalkers (and Ahsoka's plot armor) - but there's never anything new. Ever. Rogue One was the only anomaly in the entire SW universe (e.g. connected, of course, but for the most part its own thing)

End rant, 'coz it is what it is.:monkey2

Retcon or not.... I hate the idea of time travel / multiverses in SW.

This could hurt SW for me... I would rather have them just ignore the ST or declare it non canon than introduce multiverse crap... blah.

Wow this one little statement got an avalanche going :lol

Its this simple.. Head Canon rules over official canon.

But official canon is real canon.

If you don't want to accept the ST as part of the Skywalker saga then that is Head Canon not real canon.

If that helps you enjoy SW more then that's great. Its why Head Canon rules over official canon.

After the the whole PT and a lot of the ST I have had to twist my head canon into a pretzel to enjoy all of this SW stuff.

If Retcon happens the ST will be official reality / timeline to me because it had all the actual actors from the OT.

New Retcon will have bad CGI thus just an alternate reality where nobody from the OT blinks :lol

Man I hate the idea of multiverse for SW.. You ST haters suck :lol ;) .. You are willing to turn SW inside out and make it Star Trek just cause you hate the final three films that you can easily ignore.

:)

ST haters truly have a "burn it all down" approach just like their hero Kylo Ren don't they, lol.

Yes instead of ignoring the movies you don't like campaign for a multiverse that ruins ALL of Star Wars. :lol :duh

You guys completely lost me. I have no idea what you're even saying at this point.

Whatever.

I still want a cool figure of Boba Fatt in his cleaned up armor.

What is confusing?? I just joined the conversation but it seems some dont want to accept the ST.

That's cool... You have just created Head Canon... We all do that to some extent I think. I am not sure too many accept all of SW as canon.. But you cant say the ST is officially not part of the SW canon.. Its officially your head Canon :lol

There are those that want a retcon with a multiverse idea.. That is not SW.. Its stupid and belongs in Star Trek.

Just use had canon and be in blissful peace :)

I have had to do it for years.. Granted TLJ almost ruined that for me.. But I was able to overcome :lol

if they can pull it off and make interesting stories I guess I will be able to enjoy it.. As long as they don't do too much with it..

But wont it just kill the ST haters if they start using this multiverse stuff to introduce ST characters into OT and PT era stories... Yikes :lol

I mean once you get into multiverse stuff anything is possible.. I personally dont like it.

This crying for a retcon **** is very childish IMO.. Because its so easy to ignore those three films. Even if they start to hint a the ST in Mando.. Just ignore it.. Feel free to ***** about the ST, just I like I have about the PT.. But realize you are stuck with it.

Its really amazing to me the calls for a retcon by some.

Where can the story go from the ST? All roads eventually lead to the disastrous ST. It isn’t easy to ignore knowing what the ultimate fate of the OT heroes and Jedi Order is. It needs to be retconed for the future of the franchise to move forward in an exciting direction.

Well, they've turned Star Trek into Star Wars ever since the Abrams movies so might aswell do it the other way too. :)

I don't think they should build from that. Rather I'd rather see stories from before the PT or things going in parallel to the OT or just after the OT (like what Mando is doing). The galaxy is large. They don't have to stick to the same characters from the ST.
