Is there even a story to tell in season 4...:horse

From the industry side, the rumor I kept hearing is someone high up the food chain ( likely KK) wanted a storyline where the Mandalorians still left alive were hired and manipulated to interfere with an election. Essentially storm and hold a building in Coruscant hostage. The narrative core being that Mandalorians were essentially a "cult"

The grapevine held that Favreau said that's insane and that would drive off over half the audience immediately. And that was one of the big points of contention in their grudge with each other.

Kennedy should just get a can of orange spray paint and go cover up Djarin's Beskar armor on her own. Insanity.

This show could literally just copy all the plots from Caine in the old show Kung Fu and most everyone would be chill and happy and buying merchandise as normal. KK could literally steal the plots from old TV shows and not even change the names and still print money. But apparently it's not enough.

No main villain really hurts this series. It’s why I loved Andor as much as I did. It focused on the bad guys also. Just like the OT did. The Villains are more than half the fun in SW
This is a very good point. A compelling villain can keep you engaged. A great actor with a great performance and a threatening aura can carry a weaker story. “A hero is only as interesting as his villains.”

For Season 3 we got… well…

A brutal and accurate analysis when you line up the photos like that. I really think they killed off The Client too quickly, he was more sinister than Fring with Brylcreem. Those other two characters don't even rate.

I’m already cringing at the thought of this weeks character posters :yuck

I'm by NO means a writer or a movie maker, and watch and enjoy everything Star Wars but all they had to do was take the two Mando episodes from BOBF and make them Episode 1 and 2 of this season, or just a long Episode 1. That would have kicked off an awesome Season 3 and kept continuity within the Mando series, then take the whole episode with the Dr and Elia and tell that across the span of the entire season in small parts, culminating with her frying his brain in the last episode. Like Andor did with Cyril and his mother, as good as Andor is, we would've never tolerated the entire Cyril and mother episode in one sitting! Again, we don't know what the final 2 episodes have in store for us, but if they had just used the BOBF episodes for this season, we'd have less "filler". Just my two bits.

I still can't get over Bo winning back the darksaber on a technicality because she briefly used it that one time to save Mando from a killer droid. And then everyone slowly nods and goes "Yup that is totally something we have in our creed. Let's all follow Bo Katan now." :slap
Not really a technicality, that is literally the way it works. He had it, lost it and someone else defeated who defeated him - it's hers. Wasn't handled particularly well though, but the rest of the season hasn't been either.

I never said bad chemistry stopped Disney from making shows about a character.

What I DID say was that Carano added little value to the Mando storyline and had no chemistry at all with Din. Therefore her absence means little if anything to the show's continuity. Things have went horribly wrong with this show. But not because of her departure, because she was really a non-entity to begin with.

I dont care that Rangers got cancelled. This is because I was never interested in watching Carano, who literally could not act her way out of a paper bag. She did not have the acting range to carry a show like that. Never will. And you need some charisma for that, she does not have that either.

These shows are not here for drama, they are here for something else now. We're being *TAUGHT.* Except I as an adult, do not need teaching thanks. Bo is being elevated at Din's expense, but why can we not have TWO powerful characters who enhance each other? Disney has neutered Mando, and before that they neutered Boba Fett! FETT, one of the Dragon-energy-iest men in the entire SW universe. The mind boggles. But I digress here.
I hear you loud and clear. Nothing in this rant is addressing/challenging my original statement though. Moving on...

Well that may have worked on TCW, but it sounded lame as hell the way it was explained here. Especially given the extra long wait until someone realized it was actually a thing, and Bo looking completely oblivious. Lol

Yeah. That was a very logical question that me and many others brought up that episode. But for them to not mention anything about it, from when it happened to when Din decided to give his mini speech, was just beyond terribly handled. Lazy isn’t even the word for this.

I have not watched the the last episode. I thought episode 4 was bad and 5 was ok.

I’m starting to have the same problem with this season as others.

BOBF is Lawrence of Arabia compared to this episode.

As I've posted before, I've accepted we're never going to get Andor quality story or dialogue. Or acting. Or glorious actual sets and locations (I'm so tired of that volume thing) but I'd be OK if The Mandalorian at least did its action scenes well. It's been so bleh this season.

Anyway....

The rumours of Boba Fett making an appearance. It's getting late in the day now, just 2 eps left. Do you think Boba will appear and if so, what context do you think he'll appear in?
How will they fit him into the story with just 2 eps left?
Maybe it's denial or bargaining yah know one of the five stages of grief which I can never keep straight. Denial, bargaining, anger, depression, acceptance. I'm bouncing between anger and depression as I stare grimly at my beautiful Cara Dune statue thinking about 2 YEARS. The effin' b@st@rds. Hilariously now we need perfect teeth Boba and Fennec to save the show. How the mighty have fallen.

Leave him out of this mess. He has suffered enough. I really dont want to see him here. Luckily the temp intern currently in charge seems to have forgotten all about him; whew.

Earlier I compared this show to a Willy Wonka movie, but you know what - I think it can be better compared to the Wizard of Oz. We're in Oz now. Oz without a wicked Witch. Tell me this new planet was NOT Munchkinland! It was. The production values here are great, but its still really jarring. There's absolutely no tension here, and they keep gutting their own storylines. They undid what they did with Grogu, and now they undid their Darksaber storyline. The rest of this is going to be setting up Ahsoka, and I dont even care.

We did not get Sabine, we did not get Fenn Rau, what did we get....? Bo-Katan looking cool and Grogu Force-flipping. That might be enough for the kidlets, but its not enough for me. Think of the tens of millions of dollars thrown out the window on this.
Worse IMO is the cast comments puffing up the show, Tho guess Pascal couldn't really say Din ends up holding Bo's purse for her.
And I like Bo but it's sort of like Goldblum asking if there are any dinosaurs on the tour, like wasn't this series about the Mandalorian?

“Ah! Ah! But we never specified WHICH Mandalorian!”

Yeah, I've been the biggest Pre Vizsla/Bo Katan since the beginning and I love everything about her on this show. But it does also feel so empty this season because while she feels like the most important thing currently, her story is really only a couple minutes each episode. So we still have to sit through 20-30 min, each week, of boring stories.

I just don't know what to say about this anymore.

A bunch of Mandalorians reuiniting to retake Mandalore should be way more epic and badass than it actually is.

That's the issue. Mandalore was shown to be destroyed and desolate. What's there to take back?

The Armorer brushed Bo's claim that she saw a Mythosaur originally and then decided she was the one who needed to unite all the Mandalorians to retake Mandalore. And this was AFTER Greef Karga gave them some land.

And the main character on the show has done nothing all season except be ok with just living life with his cult in a cave again. So they're gonna rush a plot for him with two episodes left to try to hook us in again for season 4. This stuff is just so poorly written and executed. How there's so many people defending this is beyond me.
