Two episodes left and what are the stakes? What's the conclusion to this season? Who's the villain?
My guess is they drop all the story into that last episode, as a cliffhanger of course.

This has been mostly a filler season….some good, most not.

I am sure we will get a huge last episode, if not, they may have killed this show for many.

Holy crap go and watch Skarsgard’s freaking super epic monologue in Andor then immediately watch this Mandalorian episode it is quite a jarring shock to the senses lol

Look I was all for supporting both the serious slow burn drama from Andor and the swashbuckling adventures of The Mandalorian but this episode wasn’t swashbuckling that was the freaking WIGGLES MEETS HANDY MANDY!
Well I THOUGHT from the trailer we were gonna get a rousing speech from Din - heck I already pictured him yelling at a whole group of bickering Mandalorians who categorically despise each other "who are we, what do we stand for" maybe defiantly yanking his helmet off and yelling some more while waving the Darksaber demanding if any of those here were more of a Mandalorian or a better warrior than the sword's creator, when their ancestors conquered worlds and rode mythosaurs and that any creed that tears people apart has lost its purpose.....

And then after Bo sez the Night Owls stand with Din and everyone cheers and Boba sneers it was a great speech but warns no way the Mandalorians regrouping won't draw attention so they all go off to kick some @ss.

Instead we'll get Bo passing out scented drawstring Hefty bags and puts everyone on cleanup, and when she says she saw the Mythosaur, Boba tells her to quit snorting lizards and get on with it, Princess.

I'm trying to think of a cliffhanger that would want me to watch season 4. :lol

Back when the world was normal lots of beloved shows had bad episodes, or even seasons where there was a drop off in quality. Star Trek, The Next Generation, Doctor Who ( The classic series not the modern abomination) , Blake's 7 and so on.

The thing is fans of these shows wouldn't be out in the streets pitchforks waving calling for the shows to be cancelled, quite the opposite in fact. Funny how times have changed, everything seems so hyperbolic and hysterical constantly. Or maybe I'm just getting old?

I think the big difference is there were no 'streets' -- i.e. the Internet -- back then. I also think it depends on how steep the drop is along with duration. Star Wars is kind of a perfect storm: socially fraught time period, massive legacy property taken over by a soulless mega-corporation and squeezed repeatedly, rabid fan base.

Add Internet and stir. :panic:

it is also true that there were outrages back then to some shows and many shows did get cancelled because people tuned out. it is just now you hear about the complaints that lead to it, back in the day we had to angrily write letters

Also, back in the day there was so little that beggars could not be choosers. We had few channels and almost no scifi on tv.

I should add that it is not unreasonable to expect quality to improve rather than degrade. Do we really want to return to crappier entertainment??

BOBF is Lawrence of Arabia compared to this episode.
So, long and boring?

But the New Republic is what's around and they don't even know there's anything more than Imperial remnants left. No way the Empire can still remotely be occupying Mandalore if that's the case. Especially when Gideon was on the run and arrested and Thrawn is somewhere in the Uncharted Regions with Ezra. Would they introduce another Imperial Officer running things?

Plus, Din was flying around Mandalore and it's moons undistubed and Bo was even surprised to even see TIE Interceptors in the first place. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just using the evidence with what the show has given us.

But like @Garlador says, we're probably giving too much attention to something that they'll easily solve so it is what it is. Shutting off my brain now and will just blindly consume these final two episodes.
They made a point of mentioning that (due to the Empire's bombing) Mandalore's upper atmosphere was impenetrable to ships' sensors. Between that and the story that the planet was a toxic wasteland would make it an ideal place for Gideon's followers to hide and build up their forces, especially considering how inept the New Republic seems to be with respect to security (& apparently having only one competent X-Wing pilot patrolling the entire galaxy lol). I'm not suggesting they "occupy" Mandalore, but a secret base at a remote point on the planet is certainly possible.

How the hell did we go from..

THE SIEGE OF MANDALORE!!!

THE NIGHT OF 1,000 TEARS!!!

to

Goofy silly King and Queen plot! :slap
All I can say to that is...........EWOKS!!!

So basically a half Mando/Grogu and half Asian X-Wing Pilot movie, with Ahsoka, Boba, Bo-Katan, etc. all cameos all sprinkled in to lead into the ST?
Nah, based on Filoni's fetish for the unkillable Ahsoka, and KK's female force, it'll be a retreat of the lame EG girlpower scene. Guess this explains why "the Mandalorian" is Bo-Katan now.:pfft:

Lead by a lineup of Ahsoka and Bo-katan, backed up by Fennec, with the obligatory Luke cameo, and Grogu toddling behind imitating him to sell more Grogu plushies. And space whales.

Along the way, Mando will have become a "sensitive and supportive man", ditched the Beskar, announcing this is her Way, and gets 30 seconds of screen time where he gets killed off heroically sacrificing himself to save Bo.

I was wise to keep my collectibles to Seasons 1 and 2. :stake *&^%$! This wasn't what I was hoping for, for this series at all. Not bloated superficial cartoons. :cuss
Worse, Filoni isn't some experienced live action director, as he said himself, so WTF are they thinking?
