I haven't read every post here, but I do get the sense that there is a lot of hate for this last season of Mando. I personally enjoyed it quite a bit. Maybe it's easier for me because: 1) I didn't start watching until it was almost over, and could binge episodes together; and 2) I'm not a hardcore Star Wars guy, so I couldn't nitpick deviations from Star Wars lore even if I wanted to. But beyond the one episode that took way too long exploring the doctor who was trying to reform and Gideon's lackey (I thought, "surely there must be a really significant payoff for all the time they are spending with this," but no. . .), I thought it was really fun, lots of great action, and I enjoyed seeing the progression of the Mandalorians.
I have quibbles of course. Mando bending the knee to Bo-Katan for no clear reason, the sad fact of what it took to ultimately beat Gideon (proved to me he was clearly a superior fighter to the others), one of the Mandos with the most to lose (heavy gunner guy, who has a son) sacrificing himself--they make babies without taking those helmets off!--for seemingly no reason, as he had plenty of time to escape through the hole in the wall without committing suicide, Apollo Creed completely changing into a friendly babyface instead of someone who lives and thrives in shades of gray, no return of Dark Chewbacca or the blue alien cowboy, etc. I do sense that maybe the story is hamstrung by the popularity of Grogu--all story elements have to ultimately lead to opportunities to sell more dolls. Why would Mando care so much about making him an apprentice? And it does seem like he chose to be his guardian just so that could be a thing? Anyway, good show. Bring on more I say.
