That’s the way Trinity likes it.Yeah he was all hands since Reloaded.

Could you imagine video game footage from the soulless levels of Enter the Matrix or Neo the path of the one? I mean I loved the hell out of them back in the day but it would feel completely out of place hahaI just got back from watching Alien Resurrections....I mean, Matrix Resurrections.
There were only seven of us in the theater, six men and one woman. All of us were either late 30's to early 50's.
Anyways, I liked it...the film.
It's not as good as the 1999 Matrix obviously. I'm somewhat indifferent about the film, similarly to Spiderman. There are things I really like and some missed opportunities and poorly executed action.
What I like
The cast
Neo is still Neo, a legend, "THE ONE" (integral anomaly). He didn't get the ST Skywalker treatment. That alone makes his return far more enjoyable. Not to mention, he actually made a difference. Things were better in the present because of him.
Trinity - She was fine when she got to be Trinity, but it takes a while for that to happen, but when it does, it was worth it.
Bugs - She's hot, but also very likable and just a good all-around character. Best new Matrix character, imo.
Bootleg Morpheus was really good, likable and different from the original, but it made sense withing the context of the story.
Neal Patrick Harris was a good antagonist.
Bootleg Agent Smith was fine, but Hugo would have been better, especially if he would have shown up in a very cool scene at the end instead of the new guy. New guy did fine tho. It just felt off when you have the real Neo and Trinity there and no Hugo.
The Bad
The action - Not great, a noticeable downgrade from the original trilogy. Too many closeups and messy looking choreography. Also, a lot of unnecessary slow-motion for action that wasn't particularly dynamic or great. At least the CGI wasn't bad and no rubber bodies.
The Score - Kind of forgettable. They actually used the drug song from the trailer in the movie. Whatever.
The Merovingian - what a waste of a character and sequence. His incoherent ramblings along with the crappy martial arts in that whole sequence was trash. IS that why he looked like trash too? Was that the point? He looked like ****, so the whole sequence was also ****** looking.
The things I'm indifferent to - Not bad, not great....
The story - This film like most sequels is not necessary, but at least this film knows it. When Neo takes the red pill and he returns to the real world, he discovers that a lot has changed for the better. It's not perfect, but what is? I'm not sure what the point of the film was or what the point of the story is because there was no real need for these new characters to look for Neo. I didn't get that.
In the original film, Morpheus believed in a made-up prophesy created by the Oracle, so he and his crew were a small group that believed Neo would change things for the better. In this new film, Bugs and her crew are also a group of people that believe in the legend of Neo. There seems to be some kind of religion or fandom around Neo in the present, but why do they want Neo back and for what purpose? Is it to stop the new and improved Matrix that uses emotions as its source of power?
The meta-aspect of the film is a bit much, but it actually works and fits perfectly with what Neal Patrick Harris was doing to Neo and Trinity. He was torturing them emotionally to generate more power, so what better way to do that than to make their lives a meaningless cliche video game. So, the satirical humor and criticism works within the context of the story. The system taking the things that were important to them and using it against them is good stuff.
Having said that, all the "video game " footage in the film were scenes from the old films. Why not make it look like an actual video game?
The best parts of the film for me were the first and third act. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, but I enjoyed the film. My current ranking
The Matrix
Reloaded
Resurrections
Revolutions
One meaningless thing that bothered me, once Neo is back and working with Bugs and the new crew, I wish he had worn his "ONE" costume and sunglasses, instead of what he was wearing.
7/10
It's not bad, certainly nowhere near as bad as the hyperbole reactions from Youtube critics in order to get views. If the action and special effects are the things you like the most about Matrix, then this film is not for you. They did not introduce a "new bullet time", but the film knows it, so it focused on telling a smaller story about Neo and Trinity. I didn't find the film romantic like some say. I also think the satirical humor will take on a different meaning upon rewatching the film knowing that it's all a system of torture for Neo.

Tobey/Garfield/Holland > Neo/Trinity/Iron Fist Girl
Possibly, I sure hope so. Despite my initial dismay I am looking forward to seeing how it plays on the big screen.I also think the satirical humor will take on a different meaning upon rewatching the film knowing that it's all a system of torture for Neo.

I think what surprised me is that Keanu actually shaved and cut his hair for that one scene
It’s a fatal blow to the movie when its main star looks more like THE MAIN CHARACTER from his other more successful franchise than from his classic iconic character from the Matrix!
It’s like you are constantly being reminded while watching the Matrix that oh yeah that’s right this actor is in the process of making another movie in a franchise that has already surpassed The Matrix in both spectacle and acclaim.
Probably my nephew he prefers PT over the OT I want to kick him also lolThe Rage Against the Machine cover at the end was cringe.
It was more than one scene.
I think he should keep the beard because it makes him look younger, but he could have cut his hair. Short hair and a beard would have been a "new" look for Neo.
Speaking of John Wick, when I was buying my ticket, there were three kids outside the theater looking at the Spiderman and Matrix poster and one of them said, "That's John Wick. That's not Neo. It's John Wick." I wanted to kick him.
100% this ^^^^^^It’s a fatal blow to the movie when its main star looks more like THE MAIN CHARACTER from his other more successful franchise than from his classic iconic character from the Matrix!

Watch him look like classic Neo when he joins the MCU lolI get the criticism, but that's how Keanu has looked since 2013's 47 Ronin, before John Wick. Damn it, the "John Wick" look is a curse now, because that's all people see when they look at him.
I mean, when the first Matrix came out, no one ever said, "Oh man, Keanu looks like Johnny Utha from Point Break," or any of his other 90's roles.
But I get it, John Wick is like that damn Smith virus, infecting everything.
We might even get a John Wick Neo HT. That's 3 HT Keanu figures with the same look.
