Man was I hyped by the HT Indy announcement. I don't feel bad about not getting the figure. But if I were HT, I would release a V.2 to show they can do it.

If they do it better come with two heads so i can replace the ROTLA Indy's head.

I like the DX Indy figure..definitely not the worst but, as someone mentioned a page back, UU Luke definitely is the worst.

That's what I'm hoping for. It would be nice to have an out-of-the-box Indy figure that looks like Harrison Ford without a $100+ repaint. If the HT one looked like Ford I would have gladly purchased it despite having the SS Indy and the SS Idol Pedestal.

I also preordered the HT Batman Begins figure but cancelled it after hearing about the QC issues. Indy was still a bigger disappointment for me though since I expected the Batman to have issues.

Yeah, I think we all were, mate. Such a wasted opportunity, just reading through this thread so far I think most freaks agree.
:(

I think so too, and it's nice to have that consensus. It's a testament to how much people around here like Indy and would gladly purchased more items from the license so long as they're of at least similar quality to the hoards of GIJoe, Batman, and Ironman items that seem to be pumped out almost non-stop. And by quality I really mean quantity and likeness, everyone knows those figures have their own QC problems too.

I agree. IMO HT Indy is the best version available however, I think the sculpt fell a bit short. The figure had such potential which is why it is such a disappointment.

Enterbay Leon: :lecture

Ok, the weapons and extras are nice..and even the HS iis'nt too bad at all.. but the tailoring and clothing quality are the worst thing I have seen in years.. (terrible for this days) :slap

About HT indy.. well, the only dissapointing thing is the HS, not very accurate, and can be improved, but the clothing, tailoring, accesories and extras look great to me.

I like my Indy. Is it perfect? Hell no but its not as bad as what people are making it out. I don't think Arnie Kim deserves all the criticism. There's a good sculpt under that factory paint.

HT better step up it's game. They show great prototypes, but they have major QC issues in the final.

I won't even go there with Indy. A dropped ball in every respect.

That 1st night Batman should have been a grand slam. It had an amazing sculpt and people had been begging for another chance to buy a "Begins" suit. HT managed to bungle it pretty hard with a whole grocery list of problems.

We were all holding our breath wondering about Superman, and the majority of us got lucky. But even that figure has had issues from tilted "S" shields to shiny rub marks on the head from the packaging.

I notice HT's pricing edging up along with their quality problems.

I like HT, and I'm anxious to see what HT offers this next year. But I'll have my eye on how Captain America and a few others turn out first.

HT Indy for me. My Bruce Wayne Batman is still in the box. I'm too afraid of taking it out after what everyone has said about it. :(

What really secures Indy's spot is the fact that it was a flagship piece, a dx, and so anticpated by collector. The bar was already set pretty high. But for HT to make it, approve it, and then charge what it did made it all the worse.

Indy was the first figure I saw where fans stopped cheering for HT.

There's a huge difference between worse and disappointment.

Indy is a disappointment, by no means is he worse than all other figures in his price range. That's just people going over board and blowing ____ out of proportion like they always do.

I had quite a few guests at my house over Christmas and they had a tendency to gravitate to my room because of my large figure collection. I got more wow's and "oh that's so cool " from my Hot Toys Indy than any other figure . To us demanding collectors it could have been better but IMO it's far from the worst figure of the year. You can't find a better 1/6th Indy anywhere.

But this is about the most disappointing, not the worst. and just because it's the best out of the box doesn't make it good - the mid-range customs shown here on the forms are leagues ahead of this release for only a shade more money. Nice photo though - I couldn't help but notice that it looks like Indy's stunt double wearing the well of souls disguise. For me that's really disappointing of an extremely anticipated $250 figure.
