Wow, i was just checking ebay for fun and bidding just for the box and inserts for the ipad is at $460 with minutes left to go. Damn, some people don't know how to read.

Wow....

These bidders probably don't deserve the money anyway, if they can't read...unless an IPad box is really worth that kind of money.

Oh, I bet you're right there. I'd say most seller's expect that, but given the fact that Ebay favors the buyer, the seller is just asking for trouble. That auction should have had in big, bold letters "BOX ONLY!" (Which is sad because the auction was pretty straightforward in my opinion, but still it's best to cover your bases.)

And if it doesn't happen, then they'll all report "iPad DELAYED!!!!"

This is something that seems unique to Apple; whenever a rumor is doesn't come to pass, the yet to be officially announced product or feature is labeled as "DELAYED!!!"

How can something that hasn't been given a release date be delayed? Silly tech blogs...

Well in fairness they started with the "delay" stories last week. They have since amended that to March 2nd.

Bought one for my GF for Mother's day last year, and an iPhone4 for her for Xmas this year to complete the holy trinity of Macbook, iPad, and iPhone.

Of course, she's asking me to get her an iPad 2 now...

My understanding is that it won't be that huge of a difference for people that currently have them. Its all speculation of course until next week. One thing that it will have is a camera front and back. But the iPhone 4's is rumored to be better quality. Since she has an iPhone 4 that is basically a pointless feature.

If they don't make any big changes they may fall behind. I am curious to see how this stacks up against the new Motorola Xoom. The only thing that seems to be nice about ipad over xoom right now is that i wont have issues getting music and movies on it since they are all in itunes for my iphone.

The thing is no one can beat Apples price right now. Just like the iPod. They have already built a huge customer base that no one is likely to touch them.

The changes aren't that innovative except maybe the camera in the front. The resolution isn't even going to be the retina. I'll be waiting for the iPad 3 which will be rumored by Christmas and have specs this time next year.

Depends. I have an iMac and a iPhone. The fiancé has a MacBook pro. I want something in between that I can hold and surf the web and check emails. Plus game on a bigger screen then my phone. Pads in general IMO are a luxury item. To be honest you really probably don't need one. That said my first iPad poop is going to be awesome!
