DS I think i can speak on behalf of AH fans in that I am looking forward to this for sure. With regards to the choice of Jean it really was a toss up between Black Queen and Marvel Girl IMO. Either or will look great.

I just hope that AH and SS can continue this line and move away from X-men for a few and make Black Widow and Scarlet Witch.

Don't be too disappointed DarthSaffron - everything SS releases at present seems to be attracting incredible levels of criticism ( for example the pages of gay references in the Classic IM threads). I have every confidence this will be a stunning addition to the line and I certain the the AH fans will love this piece.

As much as I could sit here and drop clues about the next few in the line (as multiples are being worked on as we speak) I'm seriously let down by this bleak response to the next statue. I'm trying to wrap my brain around it, without the benefit of my first cup of morning coffee. You guys waited a really long time for this one, so to hear "wonder what is next?"... well, I'm just not ready for it. I thought a few days at least would be spent enjoying that the wait was over, a new statue announced, blah blah blah. And I really expected a better response. Maybe once the full sculpt is revealed, you guys will appreciate it the way I do. Yeah; thats it... I'm going to hold onto that idea while my coffee brews.

Well I can't say I'm not disappointed in the replies to this tease. With over 20 statues out there representing Jean in her Phoenix persona, I guess we thought something more unique would be appreciated bythe collectors. We thought for sure if it was a Phoenix we'd get alot of "Not another Phoenix; how un-original" comments out of the fans and collectors.

When Adam started designing this one, I don't think there were any others that featured Jean as the Black Queen aside from the small bust. We thought not only would it be cool to finally have this character, but what a great match to Adam's Emma Frost. And we thought we'd bring you guys something you didn't have a dozen of already.

Id really love for you to point out to me how many Phoenix statues are done with sideshow's quality and in this scale? (which imo is the ultimate version of her) Please enlighten me...


On the contrary, i think that if you guys didnt do a white queen, this one wouldn't be so boring.

nash in fairness to the choice made there is plenty of Phoenix Jean Greys made. Only recently has Bowen added this Jean Grey to his release schedule. John Byrnes run on X-men is considered a "Classic Run".

Allison, don't get us wrong, we LOVE all of Adam's stuff as we are sure to love this once we see the full piece, I guess it's just that we expected something different character wise. I love all of my AH! pieces and am anxiously awaiting Rogue, I'm sure I'll forget all about this when I see some pics of Black Queen and will order her to go with my other girls. As I said before, I really hope that the next one isn't the last, 'cause I want to see a whole lot more 'Women of Marvel' by Adam. We love you guys, so please don't let out bit of dissapointment get you down, in the end we always appreciate what you guys do. Just get me a Psylocke in Ninja gear and a Blink and all will be forgiven.

I guess i just find it weak that they would not do that version of her just because some other companies have already done cheaper looking versions. There's no doubt that the SS AH "would have" been the version to own out of all the rest.

I believe it would be the version to dismiss all versions, LOL Oh well some other day! I'm sure this will be a success as well, I don't see any AH pieces failing!

At least this is 100% Jean Grey and not Phoenix. I have always considered her a seperate character so It may still happen.

I think that will definitely be the case for me. I guess being that I was never a big fan of this version of Jean had a lot to do with my initial reaction. I am sure that with Adam's talent for beautiful faces and gorgeous bodies this one WILL win me over in the end.

Allison, it wouldn't hurt if you could get us a pic of the sculpt. I'm sure that would make me feel much better about the choice of character. Looking at the pic of her Silhouette again, there is no doubt that this is gonna be one sexy piece.

Sweet, I know I am going against the grain here, but I am truly looking forward to this piece. Here is something different, not the expected, not the same ole same ole. You can throw a stick at a comic collection and see many many many Phoenix representations. So Adam, let me add to the voices that thank you for bringing us something different, something unusual, something outside of the friggin box.

All that being said, I am sure this piece will fly off the "shelves" when the presell is announced. Let the thread start for what is next down the pipeline!

Don't you just love when people talk for the 90% of collectors. Where was the poll taken that proved 90% would prefer Phoenix? I am sure a Jim Lee version would have gotten alot of votes along with an original MG Jean Grey.
