That would be awesome, I'm sure she is gorgeous! :)

I'm particularly in love with the sketches. Very "Gibson Girl", and all done in a really nice mix of rendered pencil, black ink, and white paint highlights. Fingers crossed, Sideshow will allow me to post some tomorrow. If not, once the "big reveal" happens, I'll encourage Adam to post them to either his Myspace or his Deviant Art site. I can even add them to his website.

Please and don't be discouraged by the things that were said, in the end all of your and Adam's work is much appreciated.

Thanks for your concern. I'm not all that discouraged, just concerned. Like I pointed out, Adam is trying to bring something unique to this line. I'm worried that the future statues simply aren't going to be well received. The next one is as far from "typical" as Adam will have gone to date, and I just don't think people will like it, even though its a character everyone has been asking for since the beginning. But I guess only time will tell.

Now I'm really intrigued about what the next one is. I think its neat that he is doing some of the lesser known outfits.

Eh. Not what I wanted. Not what I would have chosen. Wasn't my call anyway. I like the preview pic. Will buy it.

This is the basic "cliffs notes" version of how I feel. As Stan Lee said: 'nuff said.

Let's see the pics already. :lol

As you pointed out about the previous statues - people complained - and the statues proceeded to sell out quickly, and unlike most other collectibles right now, have increased in value on the secondary market.

Unfortunately the complainers are much more vocal than the fans - that's the way it's always been. And no matter what version of Jean Grey had been done there would be complainers. Take The Mike above - Marvel Girl?
Really?
With the butterfly mask?
REALLY?
X-Factor?
You'd really prefer that over whips, corsets and capes? The idea of the line is sexy, strong women - the artists have to consider not only what incarnation of the character to do, but also what works as a stand along art piece.

And certainly an announced Dark Phoenix would have gotten far more "Oh No, not again!" complaints than the 2 or 3 that have ^^^^^ed about Black Queen character choice in this thread.

People complained about the Mystique PF not being in her traditional white outfit - but it didn't stop it from selling out PDQ.

I say bring on the obscure looks, Rogue is my favorite of the whole line and I didn't even know that wasn't her most common costume.

Ms. Marvel in her '70s midriff baring outfit with the poofy hair? Bring it on!

Scarlet Witch as a gypsy? I'm there!

Although Janet Pym in that '60s outfit would be pretty tough to make sexy - but if anyone can do it - Adam can.

So despite all the complainers - I'm sure this piece will be well received.

I love when Dave uses one of my quotes, feeds the ol' ego like nothing else.:lol

To answer the question.....Yup. From a previous thread, Adam and I both were thinking along the same lines. When I suggested early Jean as well as New X-Men Jean.....my suggestion originally was Jean in civilian gear with the suitcases and such floating around. See below:

I'd KILL to do one of Jean on her first day at the mansion, youthful and innocent. I'd settle for the modern leather pants and ribbed sweater version...

-AH!

To me this is iconic of Jean because it shows how she was first really widely seen (The Butterfly Mask version), its the costume she wore before dying in the Phoenix Saga and its something that really has not been really done. Add Adam's sex appeal and you have a unique piece that wouldn't be able to be touched.

But like I said before I'll buy a Black Queen because it look like it'll look cool but its from the same saga as the revival of the Butterfly mask and no less indicative of a choice that would meet all the criteria set forth by Adam originally. Not to mention I couldn't find one statue of Jean in an X-Factor costume and talk about a out of left field choice that would be really sexed up by ol' "Hues" himself....:lol

Very well put.

Ms. Marvel was never a big thing with me but I do like that design....I'm interested to see what he does with a Scarlet Witch if given the chance, I always loved that character

I love Jean in any incarnation. BRING HER ON!!! I want to see!!

Will her base have the rising flames in the back? That's hot!

I'm thinking no, only because as Adam said it's supposed to be a companion to White Queen so it'll probably follow suit in presentation.

adam didnt do black queen BECAUSE bowen coincidently did it right?

good lord no. We had Black Queen done when the Bowen was announced. You can imagine our disappointment at no longer being "original". It might have factored in to why they held off on announcing it for so long, but thats just a guess on my part.

my earlier question please...
who is preventing the reveal? adam or sideshow?
cant we know which series the next is from. not asking who specifically...

ok then i rephrase.
wil he do any of the following
scarlet witch/spiderwoman/miss marvel

not gettin it.
is any of the next in line, is married, have a younger brother and have the ability to turn herself invisible?
