Congrats on receiving this is one piece. However SS are bull _____ting us by saying they check each one. Don't hate me for saying this but they dropped the ball again.

Thanks man. Most appreciated! I really need that :lol

Group shot(here's group 1) will have to wait, until next time brothers.

INFECDEAD - Great review! giving me second thoughts about this piece. 2k is just too much to have these issues IMO. and i also think it's crap they say each piece is inspected. either they are inspecting it individually, but don't think these issues are big enough to push back.

the only thing Ruining that picture is your comment.

all the STAN WINSTON bust's are masterpieces from the most epic movies ever made.

I agree with you if you get one with good paint it's an awesome bust and i'd love to own one & this 1:2. :rock

Thanks INFECDEAD for the detailed, clear and unbiased review of the statue and also for clarifying the amount for it to get to oz.

At 2k there shouldn't be so many paint flaws but hey I'm a stickler for detail and also new to the collection scene customising most of my stuff. So far the pieces I've recieved from Sideshow have been almost flawless though. I may wait a while to get this one as it's a biggie, and would be a pain to move to S'pore.

U would think with the massive size of this piece that it would be even easier to get more detailed within the armpit areas, circuits, wiring, etc...

Hey Infecdead, try some automotive polish on that paint run,
you should be able to rub it out no problems.

Runs must be SANDED out first, before polish is used, in order to remove them. Sand to at least 1500 grit or 2000 grit. 2500 grit and 3000 grit is available, too, to make it a little easier. Polish only removes scratches and very light defects. If you try to polish out a run, the danger is that you will polish through the surrounding paint which is thinner in the effort to remove the thicker paint that is the run.

exactly! for 2K there shouldn't be ANY issues... this actually looks exactly like the issue the 1:1 Bust had at first... then .....

For $2K I agree, it needs a little more consistency in paint quality, Sideshow CAN do better. Overall you cannot deny the presence and positive paint application on this statue. What people need to understand is that this is a statue and not a toy, its made so differently. The joints etc will have some rough spots. Its not a duplicate piece every single time like the toys.

Now, I am not as picky as many others!
But even I have a higher standard when I pay for a $2K statue! I am very happy with this one.

Yes you cant see it much but even in my mint condition IM, I see some rough spots on the neck areas. I know you cant get that off, but with a little touch up if you dont like the grease effects they can easily be remedied. If you dont like this fact then you should make the decision and dont buy it! Vote with your wallet. I think once you see this in person the WOW factor is worth the $2K, I am sure once the guys get it, you will hear the same thing again and again.

Overall I am extremely happy with mine, it has really become the center of my collection, after almost a week of looking at it, I think I will order an Acrylic case for this, it deserves a spot in the middle of the office!
I wish to get more statues this size to add to my collection. I think they really make a statement. The sheer size is very impressive!

BTW, I am by no means a Sideshow lover as some of you might think! All you have to do is look at my collection, its extremely diverse.
Yet they are now on top of my list as companies I like to deal with!

let's just say this, are u willing to throw down 20k for a car that doesnt have a nice car finish and rough edges and dents. i sure in hell wouldn't
