I don't have the kind of caliber to shell out this kind of dough. If I can I prefer the T-800 Endoskeleton 1:2 Scale Replica. Of course, if I got the dough, I might get both if I got enough caliber.

ya I wanna see what happens to this guys nuts....probably cried like a little baby after that:lol

On a more serious note, im calling SS monday to cancel my order until futher notice. After looking at how dam thin this thing is....its not worth anything NEAR $2000 these guys are on drugs. I costs SS maybe $400-$500 to make these. Massively overpriced....

I'll stick with CM thank you...
hope your reading this SS

Chris

I too had to cancel. I had high expectations for the piece and this does not match them.

I guess you'll lose the $390 : "A non-refundable, one-time deposit of $390 is required at the time of order placement." ? :horror:horror:horror

Why lose a $400 deposit when you can return the statue if it is broken for FREE and get another one with duty paid for FREE until you are happy or Sideshow gives you a full refund?
:duh  :banghead

Yeah, I guess some people want to avoid the trouble of all that pre-emptively, or maybe don't want to even keep a perfect piece after seeing the thin casting for fear of future damage. Spending loads on time on returning a statue seems like a lot of work. Then there are the international buyers who will have crazy work getting money back from customs combined with high shipping costs.

Hey it's their money and choice - it must of been a tough call to make. I hope these guys cancelling of orders were pre-deposit ones cos 400 bucks is a fair sting! I just think it would have been easier after pulling the trigger to order one to go through any return process than to lose so much money.
Mine has a couple of flaws I can live with, maybe others wouldn't, but as I said earlier it made it to regional Australia in one piece for me, has super smooth paint and standing here in my room it is damn awesome.
My mates who have seen it are mesmerised by it.

I have to agree, not worth the $2k, I even cancelled the one I had for $1500. It looks good but is overpriced

They are sure instilling a lot of confidence in their product with these issues. Future 1:2 pieces are going to be hard to sell, especially if it is in the IM world.

Smart choice. Sideshow needs to pay attention to all of us in order for them to get their standards higher for future products if they choose not to make any changes to this IM.

I wont be losing anything. If I dont get it back...I cancel the other $3000 of stuff I have on order. They have complied before...when I ordered the AMP suit. I found out that was masivley overpriced and plastic as well. Plus I have a different credit card now...they can try:D

Im not worrying about getting a piece with a bad paint job. Im cancelling because this thing is paper thin with an "iffy" paint job. That is not quality in my opinion nor is that worth $2000US. Im worried I may hit this thing the wrong way a year+ down the road and have it shatter to pieces. SS wont do anything to cover customers once that starts happening. Look at the CM predator...that thing is made of SOLID polystone and weighs like 90lbs with an awesome paint job. That my friend is worth $2000 and that is quality....not this paper mache Iron man statue.

I have to say, I am %100 with you.
The guys that don't have it in front of
them have no idea what there talking about!

The fact of the matter is that mine is here and I've moved it a bunch of times already! Not all of these have bad castings, color flaws etc. This thing is solid and as mint as any other statue I have from Sideshow.

Every single person that has seen it in my collection agrees with me.

Well, I think it's a smart move making it hollowed up, but at the price tag of $2k combined with the paper thin casting, it just doesn't seem worth it. If they at least made it thicker it would be more solid and less likely to break down the road. Such a pity, it looks great from Averone's shots.

For once we are in agreement..

averone,

Is it wrong for us to want a higher quality product than what you got? So far you make up a minority who have had yours arrive without any problems or breakages. I don't see anymore positive reviews in any forums other than yours. That is not a good sign for all of us. I think you simply got lucky in this case yours hasn't broken with your moving it around. When you pick it up, where are you holding the item, from the waist? I'm glad you are happy with yours and I do not want to take away from that. You did your best to post a positive light for the piece and perhaps sideshow treats you differently because of that. Especially being one of their best customers. I have no doubt they triple check the piece they send you. In this case, others have not been so lucky. We'll have to wait and see how well this item sells and whether or not others have more breakage problems before and after shipment.

that's why 1/4 scale is the best for statues guys!!i like 1/2 products but shipping is a bit difficult!!especially overseas!
