If this piece cost around $500. Regardless of the fiasco i dont think too many people will bash this piece.

STFU all you haters. If you dont see one in person how would you know how the quality of this piece is? As many of you know pictures will never do any staue its justice.

Don't think it's about hating GW. I'm not doubting how it looks on the outside but the thin casting and the future fragility of it.

Solid/Heavy=Quality.. For the money this thing should be heavy duty.. total rip off.. How many times can IM fans be bent over by SS?.. However they seem to defend and enjoy their abuse...

yup so glad i didnt fall for this one. What a lame piece. way to go sideshow!:lol

SS should be ashamed of themselves...this is what its come to after all these years of being in business? They've reduced themselves to making paper thin castings of statues and calling it a quality product?. This is straight exploitation.....hope they lose tons of money on this that way they'll get the point. You would think they would have learned after 1:1 bust fiasco.

Hmmm this is pretty much why I think I'll stick with busts from now on if anything from Sideshow at all..

T-800 PF head fell off in shipping...

Patient Zero arm broke completely off in shipping..

And it obviously isn't improving.

Bring back the solid like the old school... Who cares about shipping.. The money that they are jacking up on these things should cover shipping anyway... Glad I was in the game when quality mattered..

amen to that :lecture

and anyone who seriously thinks that SS is skimping on quality to save US money needs a reality check. theyre doing it to save on their bottom line and profit margins.

averone,

Is it wrong for us to want a higher quality product than what you got? So far you make up a minority who have had yours arrive without any problems or breakages. I don't see anymore positive reviews in any forums other than yours. That is not a good sign for all of us. I think you simply got lucky in this case yours hasn't broken with your moving it around. When you pick it up, where are you holding the item, from the waist? I'm glad you are happy with yours and I do not want to take away from that. You did your best to post a positive light for the piece and perhaps sideshow treats you differently because of that. Especially being one of their best customers. I have no doubt they triple check the piece they send you. In this case, others have not been so lucky. We'll have to wait and see how well this item sells and whether or not others have more breakage problems before and after shipment.

It is not wrong to ask for better quality!
I am not against quality improvements. They should improve things. Did you ever see the picture of these statues all lined up and ready to be delivered? There must have been 50 of these ready for shipping in the first batch. So far we have had what maybe 5 of these represented on both SF and here. So we have yet to hear from the other 40+ guys that got the others.

Why is that!?
I tell you why, they are not all damaged. They have been delivered and in high end collectors hands who are not as vocal or show off like me :)
so a few pics of broken statues do not represent the best data for this issue, it's the same with my pics and a few others. These pic of mine and some others happen to be the best representation of the only good statues we have seen so far.
For THx to get 2 damaged in a row may simply fault of the shipper.

You are right, this statue is too good for most to resist. It will sell no doubt and we will see, it's just a matter of time.

For every damaged pic that comes up I can always put up another pic of mine to remind everyone what can be, but like I said it doesn't mean much just yet. It's just too early to tell.

I am surprised THX217 hasn't posted these here yet since it was a couple days ago. I hope he doesn't mind me copying his post from over at Statueforum but I think it is important having this information over here too.

See what a $2k statue gets for quality control...

goodness! 1mm! I'm not even sure that this statue can support itself in the long run.

I'd crap in my pants if i came back one day and saw it in pieces :sick

I think there is a bigger issue here than whether someone received a damaged piece or not. If SS told potential buyers at the time they were initially taking orders that this statue would be cast paper thin (lliterally!) and cost $2000, how many collectors would've still placed an order?

Hmm, that's true that's like taking a deposit on a bunch of houses and making the walls so thin that some of them collapse, then refusing to return the deposit to those people who've seen the other houses collapse.... 'but your houses are prone to collapse!" .... "but they look good".... okaaaay...

This thing isn't as fragile as easter egg, it's just being delivered by this guy....

and inspected by this guy....
