I agree 100%, Dave.

My IM maquette showed up safe and sound a few weeks back and it is fantastic. I love it. Yet I didn't want to post anything for the exact reasons you explained. Why take the abuse? Plus there's no way I could
compete with averone's awesome pics!

No pics. Just because of the "abuse"? Why are you here in the first place? This is the FREAKS board. LOL!

The first rule of the freaks board is you always post pics of your stuff.
The second rule of the freaks board is you always post pics of your stuff.

Guess what the 3rd rule is?

Until then, you got none. :naughty

Just got a call from SS.

They gonna ship mine as a freight by neither UPS or FedEx. And here come the best/funny part, it will come in on a pallet, yup, on a pallet. I only wish the casting on this one will be solid.

I've asked them if all the maquette will be shipping by the same method or just on my case, they couldn't say for sure.

So, if everything goes smoothly, I should be able to get mine(again) at then end of the week. WISH ME LUCK....:D

The ones receiving damaged items are always the most vocal and then there are the bashers who enjoy just fanning the flames - they don't have the piece and have no interest in it, but they jump on the opportunity to be negative.

In reality there is probably a less than 1% of these arriving with issues. It frequently seems the same people always have problems with items - and they may be bad luck, bad delivery people or whatever. But just because one person receives an item twice, both with issues, doesn't mean the whole batch is a problem.

And I'd agree with Sideshow CS - forums can be the WORST place for actually getting an impression of an item. For all the posts of great pictures and people that love it there are 100 posts from people trying to bash it, sometimes for a reason, but frequently just so they can post crap (hi Bodie).

Not sure what is worse, the always bash sideshow attitude or the sideshow-can-do-no-wrong attitude.

That alone raises a flag to me about the quality if they can't ship it UPS or Fed Ex. If it is small enough that they can ship it through them but SS doesn't want to use them, then SS have issues with both the castings and shipping cartons. Both of which should have been well planned out before shipping them to the customers who bought them.

Do you guys see what your negative comments do a guy!!

Comicboy come on get on my bandwagon and post some cool pics of this beauty! There is no changing these guys.... they are after all freaks!

I want to see more of this IM awesomeness!!

I was one of the first people to receive this awesome statue, and it was damaged.

I told SS I did not want a refund, but a replacement.

Would have I liked an ES, numbered, and less hallow, a bit more reinforced for strength, and a bit cheaper?

Heck ya. But it is not.

It is instead a fantastic looking piece, that makes a clearly impressive statement in ones collection.

And since I am a Superhero/Villian theme collector, and it is a piece that makes an impressive statement, it is a piece I want.

It should be here by the end of the month. I can't wait for it.

:duff congrats to you sir for holding out and going with your guts.
I am sure you will be happy with the final product.

Averone, I have no doubt this piece is very cool to look at. But you seem very optimistic about receiving and over paying for a hollowed out very fragile statue. I cant wrap my head around this....do you honestly believe what you have is worth 2k?
Would you buy a Lamborghini at full price with missing interior?

Chris

If only you are the one who got damaged ones, twice. That will certainly change your prospective. And I'm certainly not one of those most vocal ones. Again, only if this crap happens to you...

So, since it took me three tries to get a SSE London After Midnight PF, does that mean there was an issue with the entire run? And I guess since it took three tries to get a (hollow) Grey Hulk PF, then it too had issues and isn't worth the extra $100 they charged for it over the Green?

It's all personal experiences. And each case has its own issue. Who said anything about that the "entire run" has issues? I sure didn't. If you paid the amount of money that this thing requires, you'd be damned not to expect something that's KOOL. Not what happened to some of us. I have many pics of the damaged pieces that I got. I only posted the one that matters the most. Guess what happens if I were to post all the pics up? And I did not for a good reason.

Just want to get the record straight, I love SS's stuff and I do own tons their stuffs, I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is the first time something like this happened to me. It just happened to be this particular piece.

Btw, SS didn't charge my anything during the entire replacement process.

Chris:

I wasnt going to pay $6K for a solid one, so yes I am ok with a hollowed one.

I have no doubt I got a good copy. I have moved it many times up and down my house. I am going to treat it like the many other statues in my collection. Some of the guys want everything solid, but not me.
I am not saying I am an expert here but I do have some knowledge of statues, so i think my word carries added weight to them and are not just being said to get a rise out of anyone.

Take a look at my collection if you wish:
