Why do they have the Expos in Anaheim now that I don't live there anymore?!? :lol

LOL, a lot of people ask this question and while I don't represent D23, I thought I'd give you guys the straight up answer.

The reason why the Expo is in Anaheim is for several reasons. Here they are in no particular order:

1. Logistics. The D23 team is based in Burbank/Glendale, CA. Disneyland is a mere 30-40 minutes away. The Anaheim Convention Center, is directly across the street from Disneyland. Plus, its close proximity to Imagineering, Disney Studios, Hollywood, etc means that they can invite panelists, employees, and set up displays without much travel time.

2. Locals. The local Southern California community is one of the largest and most passionate set of Disney fans around who can visit the Expo without having to make a "vacation" out of it. If they do this in Walt Disney World, people who travel there would need to also make time for their days at Disney World and losing three weekend days can get costly.

Hehe well... i think that's the main reasons why.

Oh and in case you all missed it, D23 posted a recap video of the Rocketeer event.

Cool video. Thanks for sharing! I used to travel all over the country attending comic cons, toy shows and conventions, but not anymore. A total blast, but just too expensive now with gas, hotel and airfare prices going up. Just makes it hard to attend these one-time events.

Cool, quick video. Looked like Bill Campbell was really checkin out his old costume!

Anyone here have the Rocketeer soundtrack? It's a James Horner score, so you can't go too wrong I figure.

Soundtrack is great. I have it!

I have it and it's great to listen to while I mess around in my workshop. :D

O’ yes we do. :yess: It’s a great score from Mr. LOTR himself; so you can’t go wrong with this score. :wink1:

Thanks for all the cool videos and pictures guys, wish I could have been there but I just have to wait for a BD to come out …hopefully very soon.

:lecture Hopefully we'll get our wish granted for a blu-ray disk ASAP!

That video was great! Too bad it looks like they cleared out the exhibit before Billy Campbell took the tour.

Found this video... round table discussion for Press. They ask some questions about what they cut out of the film, that Bill Campbell is afraid of flying, the score by James Horner, the Bee Gee plane, etc. Unfortunately no question about blu-ray release.

Marf, what kind of merchandise did they sell after the event? Did you pick anything up. I wish I could have been there as Rocketeer is one of my all time faves.

I would love to have this shirt! :rock

And is that MarfMaster's signed Rocketeer base in the second link? That's cool if it is! :clap
