Not necessarily, Like a Bond the film the series could keep going regardless of who is playing the lead or supporting cast.

Finally got the Rocketeer soundtrack, you guys were right -it's great!

Bill Campbells Rocketeer has a son who grows up and inherits the Rocket pack is possible too but would give us too much of a modern Rocketeer . I think a complete reboot is best but I can't imagine which actor aside from an unknown to play the lead. Whose the guy from the Drive movie - Gosling maybe ?

I would consider every new Bond film that features a new actor (especially one that takes in such a different direction like Craig) a reboot, but that's just me!

The rocket was destroyed, but someone could inherit the plans! :rock I would really love to see the origin story retold though, then continue on from there (assuming the marketing is handled correctly the 2nd time) :lol

The more I think of it the more I want Disney to reboot the Rocketeer. :D

Right?! :exactly:

A reboot is almost unnecessary because Joe Johnston did it so well. I would prefer them to just recast and keep it going.

Used a Soldier Story body, new boots, changed out the sleeve buckles. Took all the buttons & snaps off the shirt...too much bulk. Still want to add laces tot he boots at some point.

I agree with keeping Johnston, but what do you call it at that point (recasting everyone) if not a reboot?

Awesome work!

Thanks....I've had the figure for years, and it keeps getting an upgrade to fit in with today's improving figures.

As for a reboot movie...if they didn't bring back the original cast for a "20 years later" story, I'd like to see a new version, done in a film noir 'sepia' tone (never happen). If it looked like "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow"...that would be nice.

I guess you're right. But "reboot" in my mind means starting over with another origins story.

Kinda like Batman Begins or the Amazing Spider-Man.

I guess I'm thinking more Superman Returns. (keeping the score too)

Hey Mark, do you have any Rocketeer art to share?

Your figure looks fantastic BTW!

Sadly enough The Rocketeer didn't make much money for Disney- it came out at the wrong time but over the years it's acquired a huge following ! The film is much more popular now and with the popularity of hero films I think a reboot could be possible ! With the special effects capabilities of today the aerial action scenes would be sick ! I can imagine Nazi armies with tricked out rocket packs too like the news reels from the original film ! and maybe even a cameo by this guy :

Captain and the Rocketeer look great together (and both excellent Joe Johnston films)

I'm fishing for a Rocketeer PF figure on a budget. Sucks but I have hopes I will be able to score one.
