Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I think there is something wrong with me. I found the original trilogy over rated and long/slow/cheesy at times. Overblown I guess, whilst I really enjoyed The Hobbit, which I didn't expect to. Maybe because there were no lingering shots of Frodo's eyes, or guys in rubber suits running down forest hills.

"Hairy dwarf brings evil ring to mountain"

7 words that took 10 hours to unfold due to all the non relevant storylines. By non relevant I mean storylines which started and ended, introduced characters and lost them, none of which affected the actual outcome of the movies. inconsequential.
Did you really just list "cheesyness" as being one of the reasons you dislike the LotR trilogy, then claim to have really enjoyed The Hobbit? :slap :lol

I take it you've been smoking the same shrooms as Mr. Mature and non-cheesy doodoo head. :monkey1

I loved Radagast.
everyone is so freaking rude when talking about him, he was easily one of my favorite characters of the movie. I really loved the character. If anything I would have liked for him to have a couple more scenes :dunno

Outside of the terrible idea for bird **** I really enjoyed the character on screen.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Radagast was a kooky POS.

Who needs the crap wizard that talks to little CGI animals and rides on enchanted bunny sleds when you have the Grey Pilgrim (long bottom leaf smokin', firework makin' Gandalf) and the White Wizard (Uruk-Hai breedin', cur slappin' Saruman)?

Some of Radagast's early concepts were pretty damn lolzy though.

Go check the Arkham City thread in the game section, ****er.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I had heard so much bad stuff about him that when I finally saw it he wasn't so bad.

I like that there are different wizards and not all are carbon copies of Gandalf. :lol

Besides, I like bunnies. :lol

I loved the bird****. It made his character. :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I don't see how people could dislike Fellowship of the Ring. It's the best paced out of all of them and you're not following 3-4 different stories. Everyone's together and it's pretty straight forward. It has a nice climax towards the end too.

Two Towers? I can see how that could irritate people, especially those damn Ents. Helms Deep and Gollum make it all worth it though.

I think I still like Fellowship. I haven't seen it in years. But as a whole...the story doesn't do anything for me.

I find none of the characters, outside of Frodo relatable. It's just...eh.

Great movies. Not for me. Deal with it.

Now The Hobbit? I'll take that. Give me more of that please.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

What is this nonsense, now LOTR is garbage. :lol

Celtic, have you lost your freaking mind. :lol

Did I ever state the LOTR films are worse? No. I just don't like them. Maybe i'll give them another chance, due to my enjoyment for The Hobbit.
I've never been a fantasy fan. Unless it's presented in a way that's unique. Skyrim is probably the only fantasy thing I can stand. It's violent, it's dark, it's gritty.

LOTR...eh. It's got elements of that. But I'm a sci-fi fan. Always have been. Always will be. But if your film can make me care about the characters in someway, and I can relate, i'll go with it. Frodo I can relate too. Cate Blanchett...not so much. Or anyone else. Their stories do not interest me.

He's only in it for a page, in a passage, from what I've heard.

Fair enough, very reasonable and logical explanation that I can respect.

Ignore this crazy muther****er asap
