Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I just want the lego figure. Need to search ebay for it. They also had a Lego Bilbo at comic-con last year that I still need to pick up.

Damn Josh, I wish I had seen this earlier in the week. I was just in Legoland today with the kids and would have looked for you. There is the Lego store in downtown Disney if anyone from Orlando makes it into there. Big selection.

We've really been pushing Bilbo on TORn. Glad he's beating KStew.

Made a blind purchase and watched this for the first time. Never seen any of the lord of the rings films. Loved this movie alot. I enjoy the others but I think two towers is over rated. Half way through ROTK and loving it so far. Am I mad?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Not to me. ROTK is the only LOTR film I enjoy. It's like a hour of stuff, and 2 hours of action. It's great.

I like FOTR alot, the scenes in the shire are beautiful but I find the second one so slow. By the way its the EE versions I'm watching. They came in a beautful box.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I couldn't give two ****s about anyone's story. Nothing about it interests me. Except for Frodo's. I wish the entire movie was just Frodo's story. Because that had far more going for it.

You got 3 great characters on a perfectly laid out plot and goal. No prophecies, no goobdly glock. Just "GET THIS THING HERE OR THE EVIL WILL DESTROY US ALL". Simple. Interesting. And to the point.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I think there is something wrong with me. I found the original trilogy over rated and long/slow/cheesy at times. Overblown I guess, whilst I really enjoyed The Hobbit, which I didn't expect to. Maybe because there were no lingering shots of Frodo's eyes, or guys in rubber suits running down forest hills.

"Hairy dwarf brings evil ring to mountain"

7 words that took 10 hours to unfold due to all the non relevant storylines. By non relevant I mean storylines which started and ended, introduced characters and lost them, none of which affected the actual outcome of the movies. inconsequential.

Daaaaaaamn.

Guys in rubber suits > CGI monsters

Fellowship of heroes > dwarves and a hobbit

Quest to bring ring to mountain encountering different obstacles along the way > Eating, burping, farting through scenery to get said ring and not even get to the gold

Re: The Official "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie thread *SPOILERS*

I certainly do not expect anyone to agree with me. But loved all 4 of the Hobbit/LOTR movies. And the complexity of the stories is one of the reasons. I don't see the multi-layering of the stories to be goobdly glock (were you trying to say gobbledygook?).

CelticPredator - aren't you some kind of a film student or something?

I don't mean to be offensive, but based on the opinions you have expressed on these forums...I hope you are planning a back-up career.

Guys in GOOD rubber suits (that can see where they are going) > CGI Monsters

Burping and or farting through scenery > Long, tenuous stretches of helicopter shots of walking in scenery and close ups of Elijah's Eyes.

Fellowship of Heroes = Fellowship of Dwarfs (all pretty silly) except for Aragon, I will give you Aragon...

:lol

What about Boromir? What was wrong with him?

Ya didn't like Legolas? Gimli? Gandalf the Grey? Mines of Moria? The final Amon hen battle? Helms Deep?

Anybody who says they like Hobbit better then any of the LOTR films, isn't right in the head.
