Ignore lists are for people who are small in the pants. :lecture

Per Christopher Lee, according to his website he has been officially cast barring any health issues.

Did I miss something? Have some of the Flyers been cast in The Hobbit....perhaps for the Battle of Fives Armies scene? It does make perfect sense....in another two weeks they'll be available for filming all summer. :monkey3

Nice, thing really are slowly beginning to take shape. :clap

Indeed! Reading that article I'm playing some of the LOTR music in my head then thinking about how other parts will sound as they described things.

Where did this picture of Radagast come from?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

It was something Weta did for a LOTR card set that came out. Can't remember what the card set was it was like Magic The Gathering stuff.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Didn't that picture come from the Topps cards from the original movies?

Doh! Already answered... but thats ok, he won't have a clue. :nana:

Meaning they actually shot scenes with Radagast that didn't make into the film? Or the guy was costumed just so they could take a picture of him for a card?

:rotfl

So glad that wasn't in the film!

Tom Bombadils part in the books isn't one of my faves (though during my most recent read through FOTR I did enjoy his part much more) so I didn't miss him at all.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I always thought that Tolkien didn't really hit his stride in LOTR until a bit after the whole Old Forest sequence. Tom and Old Man Willow feels more like The Hobbit than LOTR.

In the past I would debate about the nature of Tom B., but now I just kind of think of him as a mistake.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

The Tom B. section of the books has never been one of my favourites either....and I think the addition of this section in the movie would have been disasterous....though I would have loved to have seen the barrow-wights :monkey2
