I was really surprised to hear that wasn't Ian Holm's voice--but that just proves that Martin Freeman is going to fit right in as Bilbo. We already can't tell one voice from the other. Excellent casting!

Yes by Peter Jackson himself, as I said. It was on his facebook page.

I'll tell you, I just listened to it again and it sure sounds like Ian Holm. It is really incredible how close Martin Freeman's voice is to Ian's. Marvelous.

It would have been a crying shame if Hugo did not return as Elrond.

It was something I just took for granted...but it's not a good idea to take anything for granted these days!

Seeing Sauron...maybe as Necromancer in flashbacks? that would indeed be a cool feature...see his progression from Necro into Sauron.

That's the plan though I don't know if it's official yet. I believe he wanted a huge amt. of money for a cameo....a pretty ballsy move for a guy of his limited acting ability.
