I thought it moved too fast too. One of the reasons why a longer first episode would have been better.

Try selling that to a major network though.

Yup, I hear you. Too bad. That was one of the best things about the original, awesome buildup to that first reveal on the ship.

I think things being revealed too quickly comes as a result of this being a remake of a fairly famous series. There's not really much sense in holding out on the big surprise since most people watching will probably already know what it is anyway.

I thought it was pretty neat....Wash basically "died" the same way he died in Firefly....with a rod raming through him...right?? I dunno....i'm gonna continue watching it.

I did think about that and figured that was probably part of the reason. Let's see what they do. Not hating it just yet. :)

I missed the first 5 or so minutes, but I really loved it. Looks like a feature movie and we get this WEEKLY? Here's hoping ABC doesnt kill the budget. Should look glorious in HD.

Haha! Yeah I thought that part was bad ass. In the original I can't remember if the visitors were already here in small cells or if they all came at once. This show is Teemu's wet dream. He needs a civil war resistance banner. :lol

Can a mod please change the thread title to add spoilers?

Is it bad that Teemu came to mind as I was watching this? :lol

Overall I thought it was pretty good, but a lot did happen in only an hour. And who didn't see Alan Tudyk as the mole from a mile away?

It's ridiculous that ABC is only showing the first four episodes now, and the rest won't air until March.

Pretty good episode although I thought it all happened too fast. No buildup whatsoever!!

Favorite scene:

The dialogue prior to the big interview.

That's my feeling behind it. I thought it moved way too fast too. And......well, I wish it didn't have some of the same elements as the first one. Like that smart ass kid. I wish it wasn't the same story basically.

Was it just me, but were there a couple of people from the original mini-series in the crowd on the street when they were looking up at the ship?

Watching it now. Like it so far.

Humans blind acceptance of the "V's" reminds me of something else. "spreading hope" :lol

Edit:

"embrace change" "universal health care" "one world people" the media bias during anna's interview, WOW the similarities are undeniably creepy, you can't argue it. I think abc did it intentionally.

But I'll drop it. I just thought it was funny.

I just watched the pilot. I don't know what to feel. I almost don't want to become attached to a show I know (or at least, predict) won't last. :(

If they are smart, give it a 13 episode season ONLY. Give it a good ending, but leave it open for more seasons.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple of scenes were predictable, but still a good modern interpretation of the original series in my opinion.

I agree with what others said, it did seem a bit rushed. Should have been two hours for sure. I was surprised it wasn't. The original series was a primetime event, I still remember watching it with my folks.

I'll be sure to tune in for a few more episodes at least.

I can't believe no one has tried to do a Dark Tower mini series yet.

read the comics. I have a "reading" set for cheap if you're interested. Stephen king co-creator and awesome Jae Lee art.
