Some sort of reference to the events of Predator 2 would be OK. How come Predators only referenced the incident with Arnie? The Predator and the ****ing alien spaceship that took off from underneath Los Angeles really ought to have generated more rumour and publicity than something that happened off in some jungle.

indeed, they could pay fan service for two movies with Arnie as a super brief cameo as old Dutch, sitting in a bar downing shots when Boyd and co. come in to try to recruit him for the 'team' and he simply says '**** you *******...' and finishes his shots.


but I still like my naked 'nothing clean' fan service idea better !

Usually it isn't done well, but I'm at least satisfied that it can be after Rogue One. The Evazan and Ponda Baba part was the only time I thought they went wrong. A humour moment alone is a poor reason to go ''memba''. I can't think of anything else that didn't feel absolutely necessary or expected given the story being told and the era in which it was set.

Having said that I doubt a Dutch cameo in this Predator film would have been done well. Everything Arnie does is caricature now. He'd be playing Arnie, not Dutch.

ill answer in behalf the predator franchise in that they do not need Khev's slack cut or his approval as a star wars fan to make the nostalgic cameo.
this is a movie for adults, not a kiddie space soap opera

Yeah -- when they started from total scratch essentially.

Some say the nod to Ponda Baba was the worst bit. Clearly Vader and Tarkin worked. Leia too. But RO is the very rare exception...
