Jon-Bon / Reese?
Jon-Bon / Reese?
Dude, was that the worst ****ing movie or what.. seriously.
I got a digital copy, then deleted the mofo straight after I watched it.
Yeah, Genisys is good fun but just one of those sequels that you compartmentalize and enjoy in spite of it not being a "real" continuation of the story.
The funny thing is that for all the silliness and goofiness every so often there will be like 10 or 20 seconds straight of a sequence that makes me think, "you know, this one segment could have been part of a *great* Terminator movie," like portions of the future sequence or like when Arnold was loading the magazines and his hand went all crazy.
the big orchestra stuff is simultaneously one of the things that makes Genisys feel very inconsistent with the Cameron films.
That and the gratuitous over use of "DUN dun dun dun dun, DUN dun dun dun dun..." Somehow "opening and closing credits" became "every five seconds of the movie."
Oh yeah, hated that. Gratuitous ''hey audience it's Terminator! DUN dun dun dun DUN! See? It's Terminator!!'' That wasn't even the T-800s theme in the first two movies.
But the other more melodic stuff in the Genisys score is nice.
It was more a rhetorical question actually.Worst? No.
Of course mate I know that, & we all have our guilty pleasures. That said, I just came away thinking, "NO. Just - no."I don't consider it canon I must stress. It's all very silly and further undermines the T-800 with jokey crap and physical strength he never had in T1 and T2; generally just doesn't feel like the Cameron-verse in any way... Real Terminator ended with T2.
Well to be fair, I actually did say in the movie thread that I thought the first 10mins or so were good, so there is that. Ignoring the momumentally idiotic casting of JonBon Courtney for a second, the initial exchange between him & Jason Clarke was quite well done - as well as the actual war sequences. Still, that wasn't going to prop up the rest of such a bloated popcorn nightmare passing for a T-movie.The funny thing is that for all the silliness and goofiness every so often there will be like 10 or 20 seconds straight of a sequence that makes me think, "you know, this one segment could have been part of a *great* Terminator movie," like portions of the future sequence or like when Arnold was loading the magazines and his hand went all crazy.
We always kill the guys that try to help us, always. And let the little demons run a muck. John Lennon murdered, John Kennedy murdered, Martin Luther King murdered, Gandhi murdered, Jesus murdered…..Ronald Reagan….wounded. - Bill Hicks
Yeah. Dennis Leary had a similar joke in one of his 90s stand up shows which rang pretty true as well; Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin - all died before their time via one vice or another, yet modern 'production line' rockers get left with a room full coke, & come out an hour later yelling ROCK ON!!!I'm reminded of a Bill Hicks joke:
