You know if you think about it, the ammount of non-critical items Leia, and in fact, many OT characters, come in contact with in each film will really make every Exclusive in the OT, especially ANH difficult. I can't think of anything other than the interrogation droid that could be with Vader, the only other thing I could think of is Obi-Wan's cloak and lightsaber from the duel, but that's a given for an Obi-Wan figure so that won't work. Tattooine Luke should be fine cuz you have the hat from the cut scene you could throw in no sweat, but even think about X-Wing pilots, what do you give them as exclusives in ANH? I think Leia's done the best way possible for accessories; yes the Exclusive isn't an "OH I MUST HAVE IT" item like Grievous' blaster, but at the same time, it gives something more for those that get that version of the figure, and because the wow factor is missing, it won't bother those forced to get the regular edition.

I am ordering it. I am unsure about the head right now but still want it. It think it could be better but on the other hand its not exactly bad. Plus this is "the" Leia.

There's no way I could pass this one up. Too iconic. A must have for a SW fan like me.
Besides, I know she's gonna look just fine once in hand.:D

Count me in for the exclusive; might as well continue the trend even if it isn't the most exciting exclusive. Besides you never know when binders might come in handy.

Like some have said, it's going to be hard to find iconic exclusive pieces for the Star Wars characters, especially in ANH. It's not like Lord of the Rings where the characters have loads of gear and receive different items to help them on the journey. The Star Wars characters are pretty basic when it comes to their materialistic posessions.

Boushh Leia may be fancier, but this version is too iconic not to own. I think she looks pretty sharp and as always just remember the SSC collector mantra "It looks better in person!" (Seriously)

I guess not. I don't know why I keep buying these things. I don't know how them being in 1/6th scale or having to be in a certain price range makes it ok for the figures to have horrible bodies, huge heads, huge hands (atleast for the males), bad tailoring and bad hemming (even Hasbro's didn't have all this excess thread). 'Futzing' (I hate that word now) can only go so far. I open my Medicom figure and I don't have to tape, rubberband or wet the figure done. I just pose it.

These aren't kits, they're collectible figures. They may be better than Hasbro's (which I never bought), but look at where other companies have been going in the 1/6th world. I don't think they put enough into this line as it deserves. They remind me too much like dolls.

The only thing I don't have a problem with is the well-done accessories and their other sculpted pieces. I don't know what to expect with the armored characters, Darth Vader and Boba Fett. They need to step up in the 1/6 area, but that will probably never happen.

They're supposed to have new bodies this year (what kind, who knows) and I don't see how it's too much to ask them to sculpt the heads a little smaller (making them bigger to compensate for shrinkage isn't working) sculpt/shrink the hands and sew the clothes better better. It's not having to redo anything. Maybe they should spend more time on a figure?

I'd pay a few more bucks if the quality was there, but there's barely any now. And I HIGHLY doubt they'd sell less.

With midcom you've got a generic head sculpt at best

I do believe, from Jedi Luke to Fortuna, that the line has improved over time... maybe not these preview photos, as this conversation seems to repeat itself with every figure announced.

But Mace, Jinn, and especially Maul and Fortuna all were vast improvements from Luke, Anakin and Han.

I can only hope that it continues in that fashion.

Medicom has pretty consistent issues, too (scale, head sculpts and paint apps that look more "toy-like" than realistic). But Sachiel has pointed out some of valid criticisms of SS's figures as well: Oversized heads and hands, an absolutely hamstringing base figure body and clothing that pretty much requires "futzing" on almost every figure.

In my opinion, Hot Toys is kicking the crap out of both of them in the 1:6 market right now (even though their human likenesses sometimes leave a lot to be desired).

None of these companies is producing consistently solid or "perfect" figures (though HT is coming close right now), but Sideshow DOES need to pick it up a bit with this license, imho. I'm still not entirely convinced they were ready for it just yet (as their hem and haw on armored characters also indicates). SW figures will never be "business as usual" for them. They should have known better than to expect SW collectors (the most demanding of all by a mile and a parsec) to accept huge heads, monkey arms, un-hemmed clothes and, most of all, a very limiting and dated base figure.

Aside from the botched eye coloring on Mace, I agree. And the upcoming Plo Koon figure (costume issues excepted) looks like a solid winner, too... same with Boushh. Can't wait for those.

But there just always seems to be a nagging caveat with these things... and most frustrating of all it's almost always something obvious.

In for exclusive... I know those binders will be great for Chewie, if we ever get him :chew

Somehow I don't think Chewies arms will fit in those.

That's why Hot Toys calls them "Action Figure MODEL KITS"

And don't forget that the Medi-Luke's hair turns green!

For $125+ I hardly think that is acceptable.

I'll be getting her also.. and even though the exclusive ain't my fave... I'm in. Can't stop now.

Something just doesn't sit right with me regarding her head also. Can't 100% pinpoint it. But this is one of my favorite iconic characters from all of the galaxy so I can't pass it up.

I think the PF still rocks hard! :rock :rock :rock :rock
