:lecturefat burners aren't that great IMO. considering most people don't thoroughly read the labels, they end up misusing them and causing damage. i saw a guy drop dead in front of me on a run at ft bragg. my wife was managing the gnc at the px at the time. the investigators went to her about hydroxycut and the like. it later came out that he od'd on it. the best thing i've tried for slimming love handles and such is CLA. it makes you poo a bit more but not a lot, it's basically an acid that metabolizes body fat. thankfully it's not like that allai stuff that makes you leak pizza grease from your balloon knot.:dump

There's been a study on Conjugated Acid and they basically say that you have to take large amounts of this in order for it to work properly. I've supplemented it before but only like something once or twice a day. No different results from not being on it as well. Oh well, I figure diet is more 100% key than over supplementing on something has little percentage of fat loss.

They do say it works though, just in high dosage.

Thanks Ski! :rock

Watching the Biggest Loser and following this thread has REALLY motivated me, I will keep you guys updated!

Right on Ill! :rock
I've got legs tonight :horror, squat is going to suck, then I'll run a couple miles and pace the elliptical tonight for 40 minutes.

I didn't watch the whole season, but I caught a couple episodes with some friends and the younger, 20's kid on there, to see what he dropped and how much better he looks does drive me, I don't have as big a mountain to climb as he did and looking at what he did, I'm determined to do the same for myself.

That dude is a big reason why I am doing it as well, I am nowhere near as big as him so I don't have that mountain either, but I am focused now as well.

Yeah, but he is essentially where I am to be, a bit further, so it's like if he can get there from where he started, there's no excuse for me not to.

Well, I'm going to attempt to get my health and body back where it needs to be, reading Maulfan and Ill's posts have finally pushed me over the hump of taking that first step . I was a football player the majority of my life. Always been in great shape. When my career was over I wanted to disassociate myself from everything my life was to see what else was out there. One year led to another and now, although I'm actually the same weight, I've gone from a very lean and muscular 215 to a very dumpy and pudgy 215. At 5'11" that's not grossly overweight for an athletic frame, but I have no need to carry it anymore and my heart and chest feel like I have a gorrilla sitting on it. My biggest problem is I don't know how to just exercise normal. Everything I've always done was in excess because of my sport. You worked out and pushed until you either passed out or had to stop from vomiting. I can't handle that anymore, but it's depressing when you use to be able to squat the farm, and bench the house on it. It's hard to stay motivated, and it's hard to get a diet down, because I never had to be concerned with dieting. I worked so hard, I could eat 2 large pizzas and look for more. It'll be an adventure, and hopefully one I can figure out. I'm going to use this thread as a blog for progress, even if no one reads it, I'll have some public accountibility that I can check back on. So to kick things off, as of today, 5-20-09 I'm reporting in at 215 lbs.

Not a bad idea, to keep track here. Think I'll do the same. I gained almost 30 pounds since I started grad school. This morning I weighed 227, and at 6' 2", that ain't great. I'm setting a goal at getting back to 200 or so.

Good luck with your goals, Maulfan and Ill Jedi. You both have my support. We can all do it! :rock

Good luck brother, we're all in this together! :rock

We're gonna be the sexiest geeks this side of the nut house :lol

Hell yeah! Fitness fever is spreading like wild fire on SSF!

I'm not going to SDCC this year :)monkey2:monkey2:monkey2) but there should be some Freaks representin' on the beach! :maul

I'll be better by SDCC, but I have a hunch still not ready for the beach :lol I will not enjoy the beach until the man tits are gone, I can live with a gut, plenty of beer drinkers are skinny with a belly, but men should not have ****s and I refuse to walk around shirtless with them.

I don't wanna act like I know anything, because I really don't here, but that sounds dangerous. A pound a day??

:lol Yeah, I thought the same thing too. It had me worried, that's for sure. I didn't want to put myself into the GRAVE.

But it was just like someone else said, I dropped the first 10 or so very slowly, but these past 5 have gone super quick. I'm guessing 200 will be my plateau and I will have to fight harder to get the rest off.

So yeah, April 26th I was 220 (I'm 5'10). Today I am 207. Not bad for only a couple of weeks.

And good luck to you, Ill! I hope you are able to do everything you aim at bro. If you need motivation, we will all be here to keep you going. This place can be a driving force for us all, we should keep posting here and sharing our results.
