I thought you are supposed to eat before going so you can burn that off?

Try eating a bananna or an apple before you work out. If you eat before your digestive system uses a lot of blood to digest the meal and it well hurt your workout. You can workout on an empty stomach, but that's not what I like to do, just eat something very light. Peanut butter or a little tuna on a cracker is good. If I eat a meal I usually wait atleast 2 - 3 hours. Some guys like to workout on an empty stomach, you're going to having find out what works for you.

yeah what about motivation i mean doesnt lifting a dumbbell or running in place kind of get stale after awhile?

This is purely on the individual. There's days I don't feel like going, but when I force myself to hit the gym I always feel rejuvenated when I'm finished. Just start in 30 minute increments. After you start noticing change you'll be motivated to keep going to see how far you can go (within healthy reason).

:lecture Everyone is different. I like to eat some toast and PB or a half a bagel 20-30 minutes before.

No one ever feels bad after going to the gym

I don't know. The second day after going to the gym is usually the worst. You definately feel bad then :lol Or at least sore.

I really need to hit the gym this weekend. The past two weeks I haven't been able to go because it has been crazy at work (had a 12 hour shift today) so I just haven't had the time to go to the gym, let alone the energy. So I'll probably do a quick full body workout on Saturday just to try keep things in shape until after I can get back after Christmas is over. I really can't believe how much I miss going now that I can't go. :(

Bigger better Ski as always that's the goal every year.

Did chest/bi's yesterday with a hour of cardio, did one hour this morning as well, prolly go hit it up again tonight with legs.

Customize some figures in between, it's nice being on vacation.

How much cardio would you say is too much for one day?? I need to start running again for a PT test so I've been doing 45 minutes on the treadmill a day for the past week. I was thinking about doing an hour on the elliptical and an hour on the treadmill.

I think if you are cutting 160 min (2 hours) a day ofr LISS is just about right, some can get by with less not I since I put on muscle/mass like Garfield the cat.

If it's high intensity that might be another story, some folks can get by with 20 minutes of just pure balls to the wall HIIT.

I'm on a bike at a very moderate rate and keeping the heart rate just tired enough for a good sweat therefore I don't burn muscle. It's worked the past 5 five years of bulking to where I'm very close to being 200lbs with a high 90% percentage of that being muscle. At 5'9 that is my goal to be 200lbs and -10% fat for competing naturally (someone 6'3-6'5 would need to weigh close to 230-235lbs to have the same dimensions), hopefully this year I will be able to take a top 3 spot and earn a pro card.

^^^ theses are mainly my goals and remaining healthy for the overall scheme of my fitness.

Ok...fitness New Years resolution...

Am down 58 pounds this year and want to lose at least another 30 to 32 to reach my goal. I know I can do it! With my exercise routine and new eating lifestyle I started much earlier in the year, I will achieve what needs to be done.

Your recent pic I must say looks amazing!!!! Great work so far. Can't wait to see you reach your goal.

My goal is to run a marathon in 2011 and to compete in Tough Mudder.

Still working to get down to 180 before bulking up to 195 again.

Right now I am at 195 but it's mainly from lack of working out and running the past month. Been very hectic at work and now that it is finally slowing down some, I can get back into my gym and running routine.

Will be back into 2-fer mode on Monday. 4:30 a.m. gym and 3:30 p.m. runs with Yoga worked in as well.

I will be more flexible, stronger and faster this year. Plus with the big 4 0 coming up, I want to hit my stride running.

You will reach said goal. If you went this far, you can go all the way. Have you been taking pictures of your transformation? Measuring body fat loss on a weight scale is not the best way to gage one's success. Photos every month to show progression is the best way to do it. You may gain good weight (muscle weight), so the scale is not always your best friend in terms of the entire truth of success. I don't weigh myself. I go by visuals. I can be heavier and still have less fat than I did at a lesser weight. Muscle and water should also be kept in mind, not just fat. A guy told me he gained 12 lbs in one week. No way that was all fat. A lot of that was water weight.
