Mine smelled for sure and I warned my husband as he helped me get it out of the box. Hands were sticky as well.

I got the GG Dewback about 2 years ago when it came out, and it smelled worse than anything else I've ever opened. Jabba sounds pretty similar.

My Jabba had an odor but not so much anymore. My Jabba wasn't sticky--no signs of fresh paint. I'm assuming the Jabba's that are freshly painted and are still sticky smell worst.

when my girlfriend speaks of jabba she calls him "the big turd on top of the entertainment center"....if she only opened him for his box, she would know how right she is.

actually mine had the paint smell, really pungent mind you, but just a paint smell and it went away eventually.

Mine did stink a bit, but odder than that was the tiny bit of water - yes WATER - inside of the bag he came in...Not a lot, but enough to get a few napkins damp.

:monkey1 :monkey4

Jabba's a'ight now, but I wonder what the hell that water was...

Ehh, my throne (I don't have Jabba yet) smelled like all the other polystones I got. Nothing new there. And even though my girlfriend doesn't share my enthusiasm for these things (and complaints about the boxes, you know...), she really loves the smell of these items. Heh!

Does Jabba smell that much different from the other items then?

He smelled a little, but it dissipated quickly. No tackiness.

My wife acknowledges that he is indeed quite large, but is pleased that I am so happy with him. She has decided not to ask what I paid, but is reassured that it wasn;t the $500 she guessed. She knows quality when she sees it!

I don't know if that was water bro. I mean, smelly and sticky?

I opened up my Jabba yesterday.

First I must say that SSC could have labeled the styrofoam with an up arrow before sealing him up. Nothing like taking the lid off and seeing a big Jabba butt in your face. :moon

He definately smelled though. When I opened Bib he smelled for about a week. Jabba smelled exponentially more at first, but the smell went away after about an hour.

Strange that Jabba was "wet" though. His butt and arms were shiny and moist but after letting him sit on some cardboard it all went away. Strange...

I just got Jabba a little while ago... No strong smell at all. And only slight tackiness to his hands. I wonder if spending a lot of time in a frozen FedEx truck nullified the stench.

There's nothing like smelling your Jabba!

When I worked at a comic store, me and the manager used to open up one McFarlane figure with each shipment for display, and boy those suckers used to have a strong smell of paint coming off them, somedays I felt like this guy

Ah, the infamous McFarlane NTS (new toy smell). I remember it well. :monkey4

I can happily say that my Jabba had no smell to him other than the expected 'new toy' smell.

Update

Jabba still smells bad. I got an extra Crumb pack today by mail and I put him and all the critters in my case that Jabba is in. When I took the top off the case my goodness it smelled just like it did when I opened him back in February. I cant believe he still have the new paint smell still. I quickly place Crumb and company in the case and put the top back on.

So is anyone elses Jabba still smelling bad.
