Woah woah, wait did I miss something? Medicom Jango? You don't mean Medicom Boba do you?

Man, this thread is still going? All over a PM I sent which last time I checked meant PRIVATE MESSAGE. I had a member once tell me he put me on ignore in a thread. I didn't care and moved on. Why it's not a big deal. He didn't want to read what I had to say and that's his choice. The people I've put on there are on it for different reasons. Irish is not on my ignore because he's said some negative things about SS but his attitude. I just got tired of reading it and I think that's my right isn't it? If I don't want to read someones post I can put it them on ignore.

I'm sorry that for me I'm happy with SS and what they're doing. However, I see countles posts that for some reason act like my opinion or POV is worth less because of that. Fine that's your right to feel that way but I do get tired of reading a lot that fanboy's, cheerleaders, etc are basically second class citizens. If you don't like what I have to say, it bugs you, you feel I'm something that bothers you PLEASE place me on ignore.

I don't know, this is pretty silly. I think Josh is a decent guy, really loves his collectibles and likes people. There have been truly nasty people that I thought were bullies and would make comments that were uncalled for towards him. I think that is one incidence where a ignore listing would be perfectly understandable. However, expressing criticism or even outrage at an item or company, is something that is necessary if a company cares and does well because of a loyal fan base. It probably prevented Maul from following in Boba's footsteps. Just a conjecture. Although it is an opinion, I think Josh probably over-reacted in this case. I think the only time I will consider putting someone on the ignore list is if someone is blatantly racist or abusive. I was going to put one such person on my ignore list, but didn't get to it...

I think Josh needs to realize that this entire thread is not just about him, but about the differences of opinions that occur on this forum and how some people choose to deal with them. I don't think that any individual should take criticism of Sideshow and/or their products personal. They are a company and when they screw up or fall short they need to be called out on it, plain and simple. They're not infallible and the last time I checked they're not giving away anything for free so as the consumer it's our right(and I might even argue our obligation) to make sure they give us the best product possible. Some might be happy settling for whatever they put out, but personally I like to make sure I get my money's worth when I'm buying something. I just don't see why that's so hard for some people to understand.

Say what you think, defend your opinions to a point, and be respectful of others regardless of their opinions. We get pretty carried away here, but in the end we all collect friggin toys. So what? I can be critical, but I say it's a good thing. Critisism leads to advancment.

Nicely put PBK. :clap

I think the problem here is that there are some people that take this stuff too serious and too personal.

Correct. It seems though that every other month there is another thread about this and for some reason it's always in the Star Wars section.

Yep. Agreed 100%

Ok, let me say right up front, Josh, this post ISN'T ABOUT YOU, but is intended to address IJ's original question! (of course, I may be on your ignore list, so it may be totally unnecessary to even preface this)

Like most collectors, I am in this hobby because I enjoy it. And when an announcement is made about an upcoming product based on a property I collect, my initial reaction is excitement. I WANT to like every LOTR product, for instance, or the KISS PFs, and I always hope for the best, but sometimes, sadly, the final products don't meet my expectations.

Let's take the ACE FREHLEY PF as an example: I have been a HUGE Kiss fan for 30 years. I have numerous pieces of Kiss memorabilia. And I have been a fan of Sideshow's products since the early days, and particularly of their high-end products. So this announcement was met with great joy for me. I pre-ordered the entire set the minute they were posted, and eagerly anticipated their release.
But when ACE finally shipped, I found that the finished product didn't live up to expectations. Sideshow quite obviously cut corners to save $$$ on these. While billed as "mixed-media", the end result was almost entirely polystone. Areas that could have been produced with other materials (Ace's necklace, his boots, his wrist-bands, and collar) were simply polystone. If not for the fabric bodysuit, this piece would have been more properly called a "statue". And to add insult to injury, the lips were incorrectly painted as well.

Was I happy? NO! It was quite obvious corners had been cut, and quality control was minimal at best. Do I have a right to give a negative opinion? ABSOLUTELY! And I did so, but I was sure to point out what I felt were shortcomings, giving detailed explanation for my displeasure. And I find it a valuable to be able to read similar postings by other members here that find shortcomings in a particular product. Face it, things don't always turn out as planned, and even a company like Sideshow, with as many hits as they have produced, can miss the mark occaisionally.

What you said is fine and I didn't see anything in there that would make me think the post was a shot at me. :)

Josh, I think I am going to make all of my posts about you... and of course the...
