I fully admit to that. The way Sideshow handled the whole PF Fett thing particularly torqued my jaw. I can't help it, it just does. And I also still despise the Endor Rebel Troopers and how the prices of the 12" figures have increased so drastically in less than a year. And don't even get me started on the Art S. Bucks...

But those are finite issues I have with SSC. I still love those guys (why else would I be here?) and I am also one of the first to give them credit when they are brilliant (ex: Jabba).

Indeed it is. Call me Mr. Moderate. I am even that way politically. :lol

Just to throw my 2 cents in, I am still a n00b here, but IJ your comments and thoughts added to my canceling of the Boba PF.

:monkey3

In a GOOD way though, not a bad way. Your critisims were along the same line as mine and at the end of it all I was like "I am not the only one thinking this kind of thing is BS..."

Flash forward and I am glad I cancelled my Boba PF Excl.

Many more things on my plate headed this way and the look of that PF - not to mention the plastic issue - Makes me feel good about the decision I made.

Thanks mang...If it counts for anything.

I consider constructive criticism against Sideshow merely throwing down the gauntlet in an attempt to inspire them to even more greatness. Most of their pieces are fantastic but they really *could* have made the Fett PF perfect (a helmet sculpt that far off come on!) and I'm glad Medicom's competition is really upping the ante. IMO SS should be slightly embarrassed about how their Fett compares to the 1/6 scale offerings of Boba and Jango from Medicom. They should also be embarrassed about how inferior their 1/6 scale bodies are compared to other companies. SS's awesome but the Boba PF and now the 1/6 scale ANH Leia...ugh.

Hopefully their own professional commitment to excellence will cause them to answer with future PF's and 1/6 figures that truly wow us even more. I have faith that they're capable. Its totally up to them.

If no constructive critiscim is made then we cannot expect things to get better. If every figure and PF that comes out everyone simply says It's amazing better then the last! etc then Sideshow will continue to go foward in the same direction thinking everything is well and all are happy. If they know thier customers have issues and the same issues pop up time and time again then they are more liley to fix it. On the same hand simply saying Sideshow sucks this figure sucks the body sucks doesnt help anyone. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but especially with negative comments its far more helpful to explain why you feel the peice in question is no good.

I'm never bothered by the materials that production professionals will choose for a particular piece. That's their area of expertise, not mine, and the final look of the PF Fett attests to the wisdom of their choice. Imagine if we had armor plates that didn't fit his body... that would be a disaster.

As for the size and shape of this helmet, it has never bothered me. Actually, the Medicom is the one that looks like a buckethead; it might even be more screen-accurate (although I'm still not fully convinced), but a big head on this kind of a scale figure just makes it look that much more toy-like. I'm not sure if I can fully explain it, really; I just know that the Sideshow PF Fett's proportions look right to me in every photo I've seen so far, and that it will look impressive on my shelf. Looks and feels right -- and that's the only real gauge I have.

A friend of mine use to say

"Opinions are like butt-holes, everybody has one. Some stink worse than others."

I don't know if Yoda could have said it better himself.

With that being said it is just plain un-American to not disagree and voice your displeasure over certain things, collectibles included. Why, this great country of ours was founded on the idea to question the status quo. Welcome all opinions, good or bad, come one, come all.

Obviously I can't put anyone on ignore, as much as I'd like to. But IJ wouldn't be one of them.

Sure, his complete disregard for the facts about Boba is annoying, but we won't go into that here (please).

Discussion and disagreement is bound to happen, without differing opinions every thread would be like:

Post 1: Wow, it's great!:D

Post 2: Yeah! :chew

Post 3: Fantastic! :rock

I just read this thread, and Dave you make me laugh.
