Just kidding;)

My very conservative Republican friend hates France because he says we saved their butts in World War II and now they act snooty to us. He says he could talk for hours on why he hates France.

:rotfl They act like that with every one, not just the US!!:lol

The U.S only joined the last two years of WWII and frankly act like they won it all FFS.

The French were fighting to save France all the way through the war, French Canadiens as well(on almost all fronts) long before the US got involved.

The Canadians won key battles over in Italy while the US got its ass kicked over there by German/Italian units then the Americans parade in after the battle of Ortona like they had just won the battle while the remaining Canadian forces were sent west and got snubbed for all that successful fighting.

I got more respect for France then many other countries in the world simply for having pride in keeping the preservation of their culture intact.

France still has a backbone intact unlike here in 'Great' Britain, therefore they are ok by me.

Hmmm? 1941 - 1945 = 4 years, not 2...

But, that is beside the point. I really don't see a reason why this thread should even exist, so please do not insult other countries or people and keep it civil or it will be closed very quickly.

Why is this fool still allowed to make threads. Do we even have mods anymore :dunno

Even Ratatouille was pushing the snob stereotype
I mean if Pixar was even making fun of that... Look how everyone treats Linguini

People in the US love to perpetuate stereotypes. The people who say, "French people are rude," are probably the same people who have never been to France - or have been to France, but tried to speak English and made no effort to speak the native language. I've been to Paris twice and met just as many nice/rude people there as I'd meet going out in any big city in the US.

It's a moot point since everyone else has their own stereotypes against Americans :dunno. But, I do agree that if you plan to visit another country, it's always a good idea to know some of the native language and customs to not look like a total idiot.

I was at Disney and some Irish guy asked me why everyone wasn't fat. :lol

He seriously thought ALL Americans were fat. We had a nice laugh and I bought him a beer.

LOL!! Nice!

I'm assuming you're talking about the one in Orlando, FL.
