The US Populations' opinion on France

People in the US love to perpetuate stereotypes. The people who say, "French people are rude," are probably the same people who have never been to France - or have been to France, but tried to speak English and made no effort to speak the native language. I've been to Paris twice and met just as many nice/rude people there as I'd meet going out in any big city in the US.

I was at Disney and some Irish guy asked me why everyone wasn't fat.

He seriously thought ALL Americans were fat. We had a nice laugh and I bought him a beer.

It seems to be a popular stereotype. When I lived in Ontario, Canada, many years go, practically everyone thought that most Americans were obese. When I would tell people that it wasn't the case, they'd shun me as if I were some kind of insane person .
