I love the slow paced episodes myself, so this one was very welcome. It became clear to me that Beth was gonna be a no-show about halfway thru it. Daryl once again proving hes the boss of situations.......

Thought this was easily the best episode this season. Two characters we've cared about since the first season and are still handled well. Compared to Glenn and Maggie who I honestly don't care what happens to at all, are crazy boring, and have zero believable chemistry anymore. Eugene's group feels like fan fic compared to this. Lot of insight into how similar Carol and Daryl are and where they come from. The city had a Half-Life 2 feel, even with the music, felt like they were exploring City 17. Just all around way different pace and tone from the rest of the season that worked quite well. Some impressive shots of the city compared to the much smaller scale and scope we'd gotten previously.

was a great episode !! can't wait they coming for Beth and Carrol ...

I loved seeing the Tank there from the first season !!! :lol nice easteregg

Also Carol's flashbacks weren't at all pointless. It showed the contrast from how she was staying in that battered women's shelter and just Ed's ***** to be pushed around to how she is basically on a crazy spec ops mission holding her own with Daryl. She's easily had the craziest character arc of the main group. If you'd have told anyone in Season one that the battered mom who happened to have a hand grenade in her purse would become Rambo, we'd have never believed it. She was like a frightened shaking chihuahua.

This season has been absolutely great. It gives you both fast-paced eps as well as slower paced eps. I love the intensity and balance that they are brining to this season. The Daryl and Carol ep was really good.

Yes! Great call on the Half-Life 2 paralell.

:hi5:

So anyone else re-evaluating your favorite characters thanks to this season? Carol has def overtaken Michonne for me. Tyrese has become more docile again. Glenn is still falling fast. And Rick's just kinda there. More bad-***, less shot calling and focus.

Cool idea.

My list of favorites:
1.) Rick - He is still the man in my book. Group wouldn't be together or as large without him.
2.) Daryl - best survivalist in the group
3.) Michonne - close between her and Carol, but she gets the edge due to how long she has sustained her warrior mind set
4.) Carol - she used to be my least favorite survivor in S1. My how times have changed. :lol She looks to have taken the Andrea role from the comics.
5.) Abraham - dude is a beast and a huge physical asset to the group.
6.) Carl - still a kid, but growing up fast
7.) Sasha - very pragmatic character. Bob got her to show her softer side. Wonder if she goes back in her shell now?
8.) Tyreese - So much potential to be much higher on this list, but he is too wishy washy at the moment.
9.) Tara - Still doesn't fit in with the group completely, but I hope she sticks around
10.) Glaggie - grown completely indifferent to them
11.) Rosita/Eugene/Noah - too new but have potential
12.) Beth - she has grown as a character, but I think her story has run its course.
13.) Father Gabriel - seems pretty useless. Could he become the next Carol? :lol

I liked last night's episode.

The only thing I found fault with was the van on the bridge (stupid) and how they wrote the end with Carol getting hit by the car. The last 10 mins seemed really sloppy. Carol was already hurt and Noah knows how the hospital works. Since the police were looking for the origin of the gun shots, I would have ended it with Noah telling Daryl and Carol a little more about the hospital (how they take in the "weak") and just use Carol's pre-existing bridge injury to get her in there with Beth. The car thing was too much.

I also hate to say it, but I have a feeling that Carol will be the midseason/season sacrifice. She has become way too cool, interesting and strong for her to remain alive. Where else can they go with her now? Last episode was pretty much Carol centric. I bet they play with some suspense with "we're going to unplug her from life support!" for a bit, then give her the axe a little later.

"I Will Survive" - Beth

She look like Cammy from Street Fighter, shadoo version, now.

yea, ok, in Mr. Green's dream

I thought it was a good episode. Its nice to see them back in the city… I am getting really sick of the wild. I just hope they don’t kill Carol off just for the sake of doing it… I know people do need to die sometimes but I have no problem with them going on for a while especially when they becoming interesting. They can kill of Glaggie all they want. :)

After chewing on it for a bit, it was a fairly solid episode. I do agree with the people saying Carol getting hit by the only car running for probably a 50-mile radius was too convenient to the plot, and very dumb.
Sure, you live a year or two in a world where moving cars have become rare, you become a little comfortable not looking both ways anymore, but damn, it was just too easy.
Ah, well, it gets us where we're going I guess.

I found it a bit of a snoozer to be honest. Or maybe I am just tired :lol But this bit^ was one of those stupid contrived situations that I hate on this show. It was immediately clear what was going to transpire and it just made Daryl and Carol look idiotic for putting themselves in that position.

Then you get Daryl stopping Carol from killing Noah and about 5 minutes later being the one who wants to leave him to die while Carol wants to save him. That reversal was just too quick.

Looking forward to getting back to Rick.

I guess I was wrong about Carol letting herself get captured.

The Daryl & Carol switcharoo RE:Noah was weird to me at the time as well. On the Talking Dead I think it was mentioned that Daryl did that on purpose to get Carol to want to save him because he thought she was going to kill him initially.

Urban camping walkers were funny.

I also enjoyed this episode because they were back in the city. But I won't lie, I'm looking forward to seeing Rick again.

This was a paint-by-the-numbers episode, a "Look how much Carol has grown as a person - spousal abuse victim cum survivor cum warrior cum savior - You go girl!" before Gimple and Co. whack her. Wheeeee!
