Re: Michael Crawford's post

True but now he's going to be obviously scared around this seemingly harmless lady and people are gonna wonder wtf. The writers want this avenue of tension of course, just from Carol's POV it might not have been the best idea. But then, does everyone make the correct snap-decision every time? No. So it's maybe not a big deal as far as the writing goes.

Indeed, and if this was a one-off moment it would have been easier for me to assume that. But I feel like we've gone a few episodes now where "incorrect decisions" is becoming the go-to explanation for some new "whoa" moment at least once a week now.

I don't think Carol made an incorrect decision. Here's how I see it. Carol needed those guns that night. She didn't plan on getting caught because everyone was at the party, hence there wasn't a pressing need to come up with a bullet proof elaborate excuse. Besides, I don't think anyone could come up with a good excuse that would satisfy anyone who caught her. When she got caught by the kid she had two choices. Make up an excuse (like some of the ones you suggested) but leave WITHOUT the guns or scare the kid into not talking about it which allowed her to leave WITH the guns. Like michael crawford said in his post, Carol knows there is an imminent endpoint to their ruse and she just needs it to hold up for the short term.

Let's see how the rest of the season plays out and then we will see if Carol made a good or bad decision threatening the kid to keep quiet.

Awwww. You don't need to be that way Mr. Khev.

I just would have liked a little more back and forth with her and the kid before she lowered the "I'll kill you" boom. Kind of like how Tarantino has scenes where people do try to be cordial for a bit and they try different approaches but they see that their story isn't being believed and then all hell breaks loose. I would have liked it to have been more like that Fassbender scene in Inglorious Basterds where one person is lying, the other picks up on it, then they both realize that the OTHER person knows that THEY know, and then it gets scary. Just two to three more lines of dialogue between them before "death or cookies" would have made the scene for me.

From an emotional level the scene was actually very well acted by her and the kid. I genuinely felt uncomfortable as if I really was watching an innocent kid get scarred for life through no fault of his own.

Riskier to break into a house in the middle of the night. What if Olivia is a light sleeper and hears Carol open the window? What if there are some early risers in Alexandria who see Carol breaking into the house? Old people are notorious for getting up early. :lol It just seems like there were more "what ifs" to consider stealing the guns in the middle of the night versus stealing them when everyone was at a community party.

For some people obviously.

Aside from the fact it was just fun to watch, scaring the piss out of him would be the best way to keep him quiet for as long as possible. That simple fact undid anything you'd argued before. What else should she have done or said, since the kid saw exactly what she was doing? At the very least he knew something wasn't right with what she was doing.

Why did Carol have to get the guns during the party? Is it any more prohibitive to get them at 4 a.m. while the whole community's asleep?

They knew where most of the community would be during that time, so the chances of being caught were lowest. I'm sure there are plenty of insomniacs in a post-apocalyptic universe.

Why do I feel more "Creeped Out" by the Alexandria episodes than I have felt about any of the episodes before it. Something very unsettling about it, something hiding beneath the surface waiting to rear it's ugly head,
