This question is a little late, but what was the big deal with the Tyrese? I remember when he was announced way back then, people were so excited for him to be on the show? Did those people really like him as a character or did they just knew he was from the comics and feel like they are special? Now Michonne is a great character and didn't know anything about her but glad she is on the show. Was Tyrese different in the comics? On the show, he was a pretty crap character.

Tyreese was different in the comics. He was introduced earlier (with a daughter, but no sister) and was much more of a fighter and not so conflicted like he was on the show. Personally, he was never one of my favorite characters from the books.

Michonne on the other hand is very similar to her comic counterpart. Both are bad@sses to be reckoned with.
