Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I keep telling my GF to watch this with me, but she's too much of a pusshy. It's on par with Sopranos and Dexter i say, but alas it has Zombies, she has to miss out on it!)

(The trailer for the new season gave my 9 year old girl nightmares for 2 nights in a row...Sign of a good TV series i say)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Yeah, that too. Everything about the pregnancy is pure hell for her. I chose the rapist angle for emphasis.

While what he did at the CDC wasn't right, she can only blame herself for ____ing with his head, which she's still doing. You can't create a monster and then not take at least some responsibility for it's actions. Playing with matches and all that.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I realize she was in her underwear when he approached her at the CDC, but she didn't go looking for him. When she first layed into him about being an ass to Carl, and he said it was because he was leaving, she didn't get up in arms because she would miss him or anything. Him disappearing would draw Rick's attention to his motives for going. Asking him to stay after he brought back the supplies Hershel needed was the action of a friend toward a person they care about. She had harbored a lot of contempt for him and he redeemed himself in her eyes. I don't know of any good woman who wouldn't be moved by that, but it doesn't mean she wants to sleep with him.

Any ____ing with Shane's head is being done by Shane, and it's just another link in his logical chain, which he set up for himself in the first place, knowing that Rick was not dead but going after Lori as though he were. If he can't get over it, it will be the end of him, and it'll be his own fault.

This is the only show I can stand watching with my GF (Because all she watches is Bravo). She hates zombies and horror movies yet she can't wait till Sunday nights for this show...pretty confusing to me but I love how this show draws all sorts of viewers. I'm trying to get her to read the comics now too.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Fixed, and I think she was embarrassed as all hell, and given just about everybody at the camp would've had a clue about what was going on between her and Shane, I don't think it would've been that big a mystery to Glenn, whose baby it was. It was all over his face when he realized what it was at the pharmacy anyway.

Unlike the books, I'm not sure anyone at camp suspected a physical relationship between Shane and Lori. They were pretty discreet - sneaking off and what not. We also don't know how many times they were "boinking". The one scene we saw, Lori had to take off Rick's ring from around her neck. That leads me to believe that they hadn't been boinking (I love that word) too often otherwise she would have stopped wearing it after an earlier boinking session. I thought Glenn reacted the way he did not because he knew Shane might be the father, but just the pure horror of having anyone's baby in this type of environment. No doctors, running for your lives every day, etc.

That was my take on it as well.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Shane is waaay worse than Lori. Lori operated under a pretty solid premise that her husband was dead. She then found comfort in the arms of another man. When they learned Rick was still alive, of course she has to be w/ her husband. Shane should know that the relationship has radically changed. Instead he turns nut job rapist. Lori's behavior isn't helping, but she is not in the wrong.

Yes and no. Shane pretty much adopted them as his family and loved them as such. She expects Shane to just turn that off. Additionally, her BS with Carl, "Don't talk to him like that" and "You don't have to be mean" when explicitly ordering him to leave Carl alone, it's a-typical woman BS. She's not considering his emotions in the matter now that Rick's back. She wants her cake and wants to eat it too. There's plenty enough blame for Shane's current state of mind to toss in her direction. He's essentially lost a wife and kids but is forced to not only see them every day but told he can't act out and then expected to do just that. Those are mind games. Plus, she hasn't exactly been forthcoming with Rick either.

Kirkman's not an idiot and he doesn't treat his characters like idiots either. Again, it was all over Glenn's face when he picked up the EPT from the pharmacy and the awkwardness when he passed it off to Lori. Kirkman's even gone on record as hinting that even Rick might start to know something.

i don't read the comics & seemed to have forgotten the time line...............but how long was rick to supposed to have been dead before he showed up "alive" ? 6 weeks or so?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Shane's "relationship" with Lori was built on deceit and half-truths, she owes him nothing.

We don't know that, and that pretty much describes her relationship with Rick right now. And honestly, I don't think there's a member of this forum who wouldn't have done what Shane did at the hospital. For all intents and purposes, Rick was dead-ish, and if Shane hadn't have barred the room and bailed, they'd both have died.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Agreed. Shane has gone above and beyond. But once Rick showed up, he had to stand down. No other choice. This is not his wife or child. He will never take the place of Rick.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Lies beget lies. Lori feels she has to engage in the conceal game now because she was herself initially deceived. Shane is a victim of his own choices.
No sympathy.

Shane barred the door? When was that said?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I kinda remember him doing something like that. More specifically, he risked his ass trying to save Rick. Guess he feels like he's owed at this point. Just like Indy, all he wants is the girl.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Something has really been bothering me: WTF did Lori write on the note she handed to Glenn? It wasn't "pregnancy test" because then he'd know what he was looking for. Writing a name brand would be dumb because what if that store didn't carry that brand.

It's driving me nuts. How do you send somebody to look for a pregnancy test without explicitly saying "pregnancy test"?

Did you miss the part where he shoved the hospital bed in front of Rick's room door, before running out?

I don't think it's that far fetched for her to jot down the brand or even just "EPT." They're still relatively in the same area and it's not something you'd grab for a survival kit when looting. And given Glenn's nervousness to Maggie, I don't think he'd even realize what the name or "EPT" stood for. :lol
